Spot on about canton being too far from the away fans. You just cant hear each other.
Club wont do anything about it though because they couldnt give two shiny shits about us

We have designed a state of the art stadium that by design doesn't allow the crossing of paths between the away and home fans... It was because of the trouble our fans always found themselves in the past.

I doubt it will ever change

This argument is getting so boring now. The standing section is in the Canton - get used to it. There are plenty of grounds where the home standing/singing section is away from the visiting fans and there is a good atmosphere (Anfield. Villa Park etc).
Plenty of supporters don't want to go back to the bad old days of surrounding the visiting fans with hostility. We can create (and have done) a good atmosphere with the existing set-up. I sit in the Ninian. How dare anyone suggest I should stand or move to the Grandstand if I want to sit.

(I'm ducking already waiting for the abuse from the Neanderthals)!

Anyone who doesnt agree with you is a neanderthal?

I dont want to surrond the visiting fans with hostility but i would like to see more atmosphere being generated by closer proximity. Anfield and Villa park have had years to build their singing sections and are also a great deal larger/fuller than ours.

Anyway thats just me and my sloping forehead opinion. Otzi agrees with me though.

Sorry Griff. Bit of a broad brush statement must admit. Just think atmosphere could be great every week, as the stadium is, if we all made a bit more effort.
The club made it quite clear before the CCS opened where standing would be allowed. If all the standers/singers were in the Canton it would help (in my opinion).

Fair dos cheers mate

I genuinally believe that the distance from the away fans and the poor acoustics are the biggest issue. I can rarely hear them and that feels like a drain on the atmosphere.
The club have been clear from start. If you want to stand go in the canton. Ive never sat in my seat in 105.

What people are also forgetting is just what it's like in the Family section. If the Family section have no interest in responding to away fans, no disrespect to anyone who goes there, but is there really any need for the Family section to be in that position? I know it's a bit of an old argument, but the couple of times I've been in the Family section, I've found it genuinely embarrassing. House this section "out of harm's way", I reckon.

Our fans can create a brilliant atmosphere in the CCS but we need to feed off whats going on on the pitch. To be fair, we havent had much to cheer about in over a year.

116~118 is next to the away fans, mostly old school......A few chants.

I love the argument that we are out sung by the away fans although you can never hear them in the canton, but the family stand can clearly hear the canton.....
