Left flank looked stronger yesterday

Sun Oct 19, 2014 8:47 am

Even with a makeshift left back the left flank looked good until the forced changes...

IMO - Just shows why having genuine wide midfielders makes the difference.

The million dollar question is where does Matts play in a standard 442 ?

He is not a wide midfielder

Agreed, although it should be even stronger when Fabio is back. I'm looking forward to him and a fully fit Noone linking up.

Good question about Daehli - and what about Ravel Morrison too ?

It also helped by every 15-20 minutes Noone and Pilkington swapping, because at times in the first half, Burke was taking the piss!

Ralls not ideal as a left back and I dont think John is good enough to be starting so id like a left back signed in Jan or at least Kev brought back as better cover.

Ravel in for Alf, Fabio for Ralls and that will just about be our strongest 11 until Turner comes in for Morrison.

I would agree with that.

I would like to see more of Manga and Connolly though.

Thoght our left flank look vulnerable. Forest made a mistake switching Burke to the right because before then he was ripping Ralls apart and all their threats were coming down that side.

Cannot understand why on earth Pierce switched Burke, like ian said, he was having a field day against Ralls and if that goal had gone in from Burke, it might have been a whole different game.

Not really, left flank was being ripped apart until Burke was switched to the right. After that they looked a threat down the right. Ralls had a lucky escape.

Agreed,I know Ralls isn't a full back but the room he was giving Burke was even more than Andrew Taylor used to give em shocking

Probably because Antonio is a better player than Burke, he's been class for forest this season. Burke had his chance, didn't create any goals, yet Antonio did get an assist down our left side.
