Peter Whittingham - He Does What He's told

Sat Oct 18, 2014 5:44 pm

One of a number of players who for me were much better just for stepping up the intensity. So nice as well to see aplayer left up when defending corners. Le Fondre was excellent when seeking to make a quick break following Forest Corners/attacks. On swallow and all that but if today was an indication of a change after such a short time I am beginning to feel more positive

Looked to be playing an extra 10 yards further forward, with Gunnarson sat next to him rather than in front. Anyone else think we pressed the ball much further forward?

We played the whole game 10 m higher up the pitch

Similar to the 2nd half at Derby and RS mentioned in his post match interview. We played higher up the pitch. Too often in the past we have drifted back until we are defending our area. It just invites pressure. Today we didn't do that till the last few minutes which is understandable

Whitts was class today, played much further up the pitch and played some brilliant passes! His goal wasn't bad either ;)

Le Fondre was very good, made some very good runs and held the ball up very well!

Manga was imemse today, great signing by Ole! Nice to see us playing 2 wide men for a change, with 2 strikers!

Overall, it was a very good day! If Fabio wasn't I'll then I think we would have kept a clean sheet, as that was the only area we were exposed in today!

not sure what game you watched
2nd half we went back to usual, way too deep and no pressing of the ball, like we did in the first half .
reminded me of the Norwich game
but this time we luckily held on :bluescarf:

Good to see someone watched the same game I did. Lots of hysteria on here tonight

Ok , he may not be the player he was a few years back. ( we all get older)

Having said that , he's been a a tremendous servant to us as a club and played in the right position still has the ability to hurt teams!
