Is it time we had a DNA database for everyone??

Fri Oct 17, 2014 2:56 pm

I've done a poll, yes-no.

Watched Crime watch last night for the first time in 20 years and was sickened by the evil vile scum that are walking our streets. In Mansfield a woman was walking her dog and was approached by a white local male in his late teens, early twenty's who asked the time, he punched her to the floor then proceeded to give her a good battering then spent 20 minutes.....

A 15 yr old school girl was raped by two Sudan illegal immigrants.

Why are two illegal immigrants allowed to walk our streets? Surely they should be held in detention centers.

Those were a couple of reviews i saw on crime watch as it's a rather depressing show so switched over but my argument is, why don't we have a national database for all. I mean, when babies are born then their DNA is taken and all immigrants who get given British passports should have their DNA taken too.

I know the bed wetters of the liberal left will be up in arms about human rights just like the Liberal democrats have and not to mention Shami Chakrabarti of Liberty who is against the right minded, law abiding, tax payer.

My argument is that if DNA was taken at birth and from all immigrants that enter our country then we'd be able to solve the crime within 24 hours, we'd know who the suspect is and would be apprehended eventually unlike now where the Mansfield rapist maybe never caught, but if his DNA was taken at birth then he'd probably been arrested by now.

I know DNA won't stop rapes, murders etc but the suspects would be identified in a day or two and arrested unlike now where such crimes go unsolved.

If you're a normal law abiding citizen then you haven't anything to fear from having your DNA stored.

Thoughts?

Some people say "I've got nothing to hide, therefore the police can come into my house and make love to wife and take a dump in my living room". It goes down that road of different types of people.

I think our personal freedom is long gone. (Bear with me now) But if you wanted to run naked in a field, you'd be arrested, if you wanted to move country you need a passport, if you want to travel you need money, if you want to explore you'd be arrested for invasion of privacy or trespassing etc etc etccccc

Everything is owned and regulated. People that grow up in the west and in urban areas will never, ever be free unless you shut up shop and go live in the stick with mowgli and the monkeys. Might aswell go the whole hog and put a barcode on the back of our necks. I wouldn't mind.

:o Just the kind of thing the Stasi and the Gestapo would've wanted. It's also far from fail safe and far too easy to stitch someone up.

They have got enough power and control as it is..
Every single smart phone is tapped every move you make can be traced also they have
filter pot, so if you mention drugs or violence in text it get's flagged and goes into a Police Database. If it's excessive or continuous it will be looked at, or if they need to refer back it will be there

This is how so many terror plots are folded and drug raids are done ''a tip off''

they have the potential to use more advanced tech for control which they probably do

you could use the same argument to have widespread phone tapping and snooping on what websites people visit.

its true if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear, but its peoples personal information and government have no right to have a central system of DNA.

The good far outweighs the bad. Gets my vote.

Surely it wouldn't stop there? This just screams "1984"

They already know who we are, where we are and who we are connected too, we've done half the work for them Ourselves anyway (social media)

Who's to stop someone leaving my DNA at a murder scene? Incriminating me in a crime I'm oblivious too?
We haven't thrown in the towel and given up our freedom directly, but it IS being taken away.

BUY AN IPHONE/GALAXY AND YOU CAN PLAY GAMES, PHONE PEOPLE, TEXT AND CHECK YOUR BANKING!! - oh look, now we know where you are 24/7

SIGN UP TO FACEBOOK/TWITTER - DONT BE LEFT OUT! KEEP IN CONTACT WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND AQUAINTANCES! - we know where you live, work, who your family and friends are, your hobbies, interests, qualifications, your girlfriend, your kids, where you hang out, who you hang out with, what your favourite drink is... Ect.

VOTE TODAY!!! - we give you a shitty choice of 3 major parties who will lie though their teeth to get into power, then continue to lie and fold in on previous promises. We serve our own agenda and tell you what you need to know to get into a position to do this. Don't vote for any other party - wasted votes they are!! Do as you are told.

CCTV IN OPERATION FOR YOUR SAFETY! - big brother is watching you

WATCH TV!! WATCH NETFLIX!! WATCH MOVIES!! So we can influence your thought processes and stop you thinking for yourselves!

Then there's...

Give us your blood so we can truely build a clone of you...

This doesn't go for everyone, and I'm not spouting mad conspiracy, this is all clear to see. Yes, if you're not guilty, then you have nothing to hide, I agree. But MY personal information is MINE! We're already in a trapped matrix of control through passports, restricted lands, law and privatised industry. We are already under the control of the people that we are given the illusion that we put into power. The next step is for is to openly give our liberties away.

A DNA database doesn't sound bad right now, but what's the long term cost?

It's a NO from me.

Please note this is my opinion, which I do not want to fight over, if anyone wants to DEBATE my points I will gladly and openly talk about it - any trolling I'll just ignore.

Totally agree James!

The problem with this data is it can be shared, bought, sold and stolen. If your DNA is taken at birth, then as genetic research discovers genes that make you likely to be fat, diabetic, prone to heart disease, intelligent, weak, etc. could be used be companies to "weight" insurance, refuse health care, prevent you from getting into university, getting jobs, etc., etc., etc.

Where will it end?

I have nothing to hide from the law, but what if my DNA says I'm likely to be violent and there's a crime on my doorstep? If my DNA ends up at the crime scene, I'm likely to be in the frame. No thanks.

What I do believe in is taking DNA from convicted criminals. If their conviction is overturned, then it should be erased.

The scumbag who raped that poor woman in Mansfield would probably taken incriminating DNA with him and planted it anyway. I hope they get him and throw away the key.

Personally I think there should be a DNA database. I also think that there should be cctv on every street. If you live by the law you have nothing to worry about

Wouldn't be surprised if there already is one... But if not its a no for me. Britain is already like big brother. Would be nice to have some privacy.

Gareth, I totally disagree with you here.
The "law" can change, studying world history will show you this. You might sign up for something now, get chip implants, share DNA and then it can be used for another purpose. By doing this you are starting the process of enslavement.

As human beings, we are equal to all human beings. Governments are there to work for the people, not the other way around.

There are advantages of a DNA database, but I believe the disadvantages of the "evolutionary cycle" this takes us down are far greater.

A quote to think about "The opposite of Courage is not Cowardice, it is Conformity". By merely conforming, you are accepting the "evolutionary cycle" of the controlling group, without even considering the evolutionary cycle of the Masses.

My concern is not so much how DNA tests will be used next year, it is more who such tests will even and effect the lives of the Masses in 200-300 years.

We all have an evolutionary responsibility to be free. free and equal.

I'm going to put this post down to the fact it's the weekend and the beers in

DNA database, CCTV on every street corner and if you've got nothing to hide you'll be fine.

Maybe it is a generation thing, but it shocks me that you are all so keen to be watched, monitored, verified in case you do something wrong.

Think about it, my views are not so out of touch....
