Russell Slade admits taking charge of Cardiff for the first time against boyhood club Nottingham Forest will be an emotional moment.
The former Leyton Orient boss, whose new side are currently languishing 15th in the Championship, will pit his wits against Stuart Pearce's high-flying side who are yet to suffer a league defeat.
And Slade, who grew up in Nottingham supporting Brian Clough's trophy-laden teams, is relishing the prospect of Saturday lunchtime's televised clash.
"When we face them, let's get one thing straight, they won't be my heroes that day," he told Wales Online.
"But it's going to be a big day for me because, obviously, you want to get off to a good start. It couldn't be a much harder start, there's no doubt about that.
"We are playing a team in Forest, who have not been beaten yet. But I see it as an opportunity, it's a challenge. It's the sort of game we've got to embrace as a football club and a team.
"The one thing I will want is that Forest come to our place and leave knowing they have played one of the best teams they have played all season. That's what I want us to achieve in the game."
