Serbia V Albania Suspended As Drone Flies Above Pitch, Teams Fight And Fans Riot

There have been amazing scenes at the Serbia v Albania clash as play was stopped as a drone carrying the Albania flag flew above the pitch at the Stadion Partizana in Belgrade.

It’s the first time Albania have visited Belgrade since 1967 but none of the country’s fans were allowed to attend tonight.

The crazy incidents were charted by freelance football writer Nick Ames on Twitter who is in attendance at the game.

It’s believed a drone flew over the stadium showing with the Albania flag hanging from it and all hell broke loose forcing English referee Martin Atkinson to suspend the heated clash:

There's the majority of people there trying to actually calm it down, the majority of fans booing the violence... unfortunately, it was the minority who had the impact and forced the game to be abandoned. The video footage is there. Don't punish the masses for the idiocy of a few. Find out which players were violent and ban them. Find out which fans were violent and ban them.

Remember UEFA stopped them (called Yugoslavia at the time) from going to the Euro finals in Sweden'92 which allowed second place Denmark to qualify to win the whole thing

The match was abandoned after half-an-hour delay
Aleksandar Kolarov helped the opposition from the pitch as fans threw objects at them
UEFA say they will now investigate the incident

The flag did't show map of Kosovo and Metohija. The flag showed map of "greater albania" including teritories of Serbia, Montenegro, FYR Macedonia and Greece.

cheers, tying to get some balance on this subject, I have read up on it and taking land from Serbia is a disgrace and I for one will never recognise Kosovo as anything but a UN hostile takeover of land that is yours, run by Albanian Mafia

Kosovo and Metohija (full correct name -Metohija means in Greek language church field). After WW2, communinst with Tito didn't allow Serbian refugees to return to their homes. Tito made law about that. On the other hand, he start to move albanian population from Albania to Kosovo and Metohija. That's why Serbs are minority there. It is our holy land i will be forever. We were 3 and half centuries under Turks. We finally kicked them out. So we will wait 1000 years if we need to come back to our land. That is sure. We will revenage for every single human organ they took from our people and sold to rich guys. For every single church and monastery they burned, etc. etc.
