A forum for all things Cardiff City

I think when it comes to Wales, this club rivalry has to stop. Its clear to everyone that in defeat many revel in laying the blame at the Swansea players door or even as far as the 'Swansea born' managers door, when we win then there is calls that we won "in spite" of the Swansea born manager and the Swansea players performances. Can we ever truly come together as a nation crying out for a major tournament if there is so much in fighting, resentment and begrudging attitudes?
The only one I tend to agree with however is the armband to be passed to Bale. I agreed with giving the armband to Williams as
Ramsey is not a natural captain. However since Bales move to Real Madrid, he seems to have found himself as a player and a person and his influence and more importantly, desire to influence others, is clear. He is a shining light for our side and think he would be an inspirational captain. That has nothing to do with his Cardiff connections just my honest opinion. Although halfway through a campaign isn't the best timing either.

I think you will find 99% of fans at the game support wales and forget the club rivalry, but on forums like this no chance of it happening! As for holding back wales no it doesn't, captaincy is very subjective so very rarely will fans agree on who is best for captain. Bale doesn't need to be captain to be inspirational in fact it may be a burden, Its happened before where it's effected players performance being captain!

Good post but I don't think the captaincy should be taken off Williams.
I know a lot of people on here hold it against Williams that he wasn't born in Wales but it is what it is at the moment.
He's doing a very decent job & there's no reason to give it to Bale.

Perfect example of that is Ronaldo with Portugal. While he was unbelievable in the play-off with Sweden to get to the World Cup and took them to the competition but when they got there was struggled with the pressure

I agree with the above poster. Williams has done a decent job as captain and I think he should keep it. You need senior players other than the captain who will stand up and be counted. Bale does that perfectly, as do Ramsey and Allen. The captaincy is not a question that needs discussing right now in my opinion.

The only resentment or feuding comes from the internet forums. An avenue for the minority trolls to look for a bite.
I've been to enough Welsh games to see this feuding is just in the imagination of the imaginists.

We aren't even half way through the campaign yet OP

Go to a match. The people who make Coleman job a living nightmare are the ones who don't watch Wales. The # tag "TogetherStronger" has stamped any club rivalry at Wales matches, with songs for Ashley Williams & Taylor being sung through out both matches this weekend.

I'm a passionate Cardiff fan but when it comes to Wales that has got to be put aside and is. Williams is an excellent captain and leader, he's helped now with a great understanding with Taylor and a growing one with Chester and Gunter. He's now got other leaders in the squad with Ramsey, Bale and lately Ledley showing fight, example and passion. There's a really good team spirit and it's easier to support a team where you can clearly see this.
He turns up game after game, gives his all and is a very good defender and automatic selection.
No need to change at all.
I'm certainly no fan of Coleman, but whilst he's manager then at the games he'll get my support as he should from everyone.

To be honest the main thing I've noticed is the lack of infighting on the terraces. It probably stems from the fact that the team is playing well so there's less reason or excuse to nit-pick. I agree with the previous poster that the forums are breeding grounds for senseless criticism.
I don't care what club a player belongs to. If he is eligible to play and is selected, that's good enough for me.

I love Williams as captain as he gives his heart and soul playing for wales! Things are on the up for Wales!

Nothing to do with Swansea/Cardiff.
I just think A welshman should be captain & dont think Coleman is a very good manager, he has a good chance to prove me wrong but so far we have had the easier fixtures.
