It's not just footballers either - I don't understand this current trend for massive beards; they look stupid.

As someone with a beard - I let it grow out of pure hatred of shaving... Don't really care what other people think - some people like it others hate it.
To each their own is how I pretty much live - although I do hate it when random people (usually drunk) pull on my beard
