' Mark Hudson '

Personally I think he is a big loss to City and will be missed and would of suited Russell Slade.

A leader and a Captain, exactly what we miss now.

I think City fans learned to appreciate Hudson the longer he was here :bluescarf:

A leader on the pitch

i agree, most on here said he was past his sell by date and was leaving for money though

I completely agree.
Weren't you one of the many who thought he should leave though Annis?

No I actually said I wanted him to stay.

But when he first signed I was sceptical because he was on £9,000 a week with Charlton and they got relegated and City signed him and i believe the wages went to £13,000 a week, but he proved me wrong :thumbright:

Terrible oversight by Solksjaer to deem him as surplus to requirements. He has all the qualities that we are now lacking and should go down as our greatest ever captain in my opinion.

Massive mistake. Can't believe they let Ole make such a key decision when the writing was on the wall of Ole's departure. The year we went up, Hudson was key and would have been key again this year.

Totally agree Ackers, but it was a Tan/Ole or shall we say Laurel & Hardy decision

You're right Annis. Laurel & Hardy decision is being kind. To replace a championship winning captain with still a lot to offer, with a former City great on the decline is criminal. Don't think anyone could say Danny will offer more than Hudson. Now or in the season still to play.

Ridiculed for years under DJ :)

He has no place in the current squad though?
4th choice back up at best? Good one off the wage bill

Should still be with us as club captain! ( OGS was nothing short of a disaster - if Tan describes Malky as 'mediocre' - OGS was effing useless! ) :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Just what we could do with now. Said at the time it was a ridiculous decision but let's hope Turner steps up to the Mark!

I doubt it had anything to do with Tan. OGS obviously thought he was surplus, he got that badly wrong in my opinion, Hudson is arguably just as good as those that are still at the club and he was with out doubt the only natural leader at the club, a very poor decision to let him go

Hudson held the dressing room.
Many of the lads respected and followed his leadership. Ole couldn't break that in the dressing room and there was a conflict of interest.
Ole failed to make the impression that he wanted on the squad.
For me the removal of Hudson from the squad was the final nail in the coffin for Ole.

A huge mistake by Ole because he was a pivotal player and leader of our championship squad. I believe he enjoyed playing and living in Cardiff unlike many of our foreign brigade that have no stomach for a battle.

Even though this was DJ signing it was MM who more or less made this signing like one of his own because DJ never really got the best out of him.

For a million weren't it when we signed him?

I think he like Marshall grown each season here and in this season we went up he looked a 5 million defender and we got more than what we paid out of him in that 2012/2013 season alone. A great guy on and off the field, brought his family here and didn't he have 1 or 2 born in Wales? :ayatollah: Was involved with a lot of things off the field and a real leader.

I think I sat on the fence with him staying or going but him leaving was in the end the best choice. With Turner coming back I wouldn't see him getting much game time here. Although he done brilliant with Connolly at Blackburn away.

Hudson should have been kept on purely as a figure in the dressing room and back up. I couldn't believe Solskjaer got rid... well, actually, I could because Solskjaer was f*cking clueless about squad dynamics.

Not sure about the Tan part. But the rest I fully agree with.

Yes but we're paying him to be a player and just be around in training but not involved in the team. I want our wages to go to players who are going to be playing.
