Are happy to sign a contract for mega money and then dont give a shit as they know if they are not wanted anymore will get a cracking pay off imagine if there was monthly contracts they might put some f*cking effort in then

have always said they should get performance related pay.....a basic wage plus bonuses depending on results

i agree can you imagine that in a normal job offering you £400 take home for 12 months you go to work and cant be assed they sack you and pay you the 12 months lol

football are more like film stars then bin men.
its booming and there is more money than ever in the game. the difference between a £400 a week job is that there are hundreds of millions that can do that job.
they have exceptional talent, and the level of public interest is such that the money has filtered down to players contracts. you may not like that but thats football, as OGS used to say

I don't agree with some of the amounts they get paid. But I think it's a good thing that they earn big bucks because it decreases the chance of them accepting cash to throw a game as it just wouldn't be worth the risk.

Thats the way it was back in the 60s and 70s....and it worked. You don't play well you don't get paid as much. I really think that UEFA should consider bringing this back. Too many prima donnas around who are there just to show their face and pick up their pay cheque. Should always be based on results.
