squad fitness

I don't want to sound negative but we always hear that our current squad are the best in the league. However I'm failing to see it. Ogs bought most of them and I'm not certain on a few of them, The table doesn't lie and we are closer to relegation than the top. Some people are saying not fit enough again I don't think this is the case they simply are not good enough imo. Maybe with the guide of an experienced old school manager will do the trick, Time will tell but I don't see it improving but I hope I'm wrong. Sorry to post so negative but it's how I feel with the current squad of players. Do we honestly believe we will get a top 6 finish this year.

Think it's clear on the eye we are far from full fitness, how can they be if they are not getting the match fitness?

Take Maynard, Declan John and Burgastallar for example, probably not played more than 30 minutes in 4-5 weeks, although training every day theres no way they'd be up to speed in a game against a full fit championship team.

True. Apparently they all individually hit all of the industry wide threshold fitness targets, but how on earth can they all achieve and maintain match fitness suitable for championship games?

Someone told me so I don't know it validity but Ole used to have a hard training session on the friday, whereas malky used to have a light set plays session.

Its a mixture of both, a poorly balanced squad and fitness is an issue because players are being brought in and out of the team.
