Remember the saying 'nothing in life is free, there is always a cost to pay.' Well the taxi trade has been decimated by the last government deregulating licensing resulting in double the number of cabs. In Cardiff the number of Hackneys went from 480 to 955 with a lot of the new ones being 7 seaters, therefore the carrying capacity has more than doubled. A lot of drivers rent the 7 seaters for £280 per week, then spend another £120 on fuel, resulting in 80 hours of work to make a paltry living. Cheaper taxi fares will mean even more hours. Do you want to travel in a cab whose driver has to work even more hours to pay for your cheaper fare? If you do and then the driver falls asleep, don't come complaining on here if 'the cost you have had to pay' was injury through a RTA, you'll have brought it upon yourself.

You can then get your mates and yourself tenners for signing up too. It's almost a free trial. I have used it here in Brisbane as well as back in the UK. Much better and cheaper than taxis.
