Interesting this new breed of fan who is determined to deny that there was ever an atmosphere at NP, or that our away support used to be better than it is now.
I honestly can't see the point of this. The only explanation I can think of is that these must have been people who would stay quiet, even when just about everyone else was making a noise. At Ninian Park, I expect they must have sat either in the Grandstand, or on the right side of the Bob Bank, or possibly in the Canton. They definitely could not have been in the Grange End, the left side of the Bob Bank, or the front section of the Grandstand, closest to the away fans. I also doubt if they went to many away games in the Sam Hammam era between around 2000-2006.
Even aside from this, when things are bad like they are now, why try to make out that things were also bad in the past?! It's bad enough having to put up with things now, without having people try to ruin our memories of how things were! Pretty sure that a lot of these posters must actually be connected to the club in some way, or they are simply trolls, or maybe they just have bad memories??

Should add, did not mean any disrespect to anyone who regularly went in the Canton Stand, which still had more atmosphere than the CCS has ever had, or anyone who sat in the right side of the Bob Bank. Tbh, I really have no idea where the Ninian Park Deniers went at all!

On its day it was pure evil, others it was a library.
She has gone though, at our level (upper championship) all the hell holes except Elland Road have gone. Football has moved on, the fanbase has grown, its not a battlefield anymore.
I was watching the highlights of the Leeds game, I forget the ref was coined !!!! There would be hell to play if that happened nowadays, not the tut bloody cardiff again.......

Been going since 75 apart from rare occasion it was poor It never intimidated sides otherwise why did we struggle in the lower divisions fir so man years I miss Ninian Park but for the memories an not the atmosphere

Saw my first game at Ninian Park in 1969, and my last, (like everybody else), in 2009.
There were many different moods and atmospheres over that period. Sometimes the atmosphere was electric, other times you could hear a pin drop.
Most grounds are like that.

He said new breed of supporters who denied the atmosphere at Ninian Park. I am not a new breed of supporter I went to Ninian Park hundreds of times between 1993 and when it closed and there were times it was AMAZING. There were also times it was poor. Leeds was the best atmosphere I have experienced in my life.
I think the atmosphere started to wain after we sold loads of season tickets on the back of the FA Cup Final. It subsequently followed into the CCS. The poor atmosphere is nothing to do with the rebrand.

The great atmosphere was few and far between, 1 in 6 maybe.
The overriding atmosphere i remember over the last 10 years of us playing there, was the crowd getting on the back of our own players if after 15-20mins things werent going well. We the crowd made it so hard for our own lads to play at home. Everyone knew they had to come to NP sit tight until the crowd turned then go and attack.
When we had a big team arrive the atmosphere went up, or when a club with a big following turned up, that we had history with the atmosphere went up, but most of the time it wasnt great, it was our own fans barracking our own players, which in turn made them play safe or not to their potential.

With the right owners ETC the CCS could be turned into a cauldron. But the Club has made it there number one intent to destroy the atmosphere and they have done that. By swapping the grange and Canton and have a standing section in the Ninian stand the atmosphere would be remedied but we have no chance.
I love Ninian Park it was my home my temple and the last time I went there I looked back and said to myself I would let this place go but it has been hard to do that. The more the Club turns away from its roots the more I find myself thinking of the memories of Ninian Park.

Don't forget there are different era's around NP
I have small memories of the old wooden grange end and only really remember the concrete unroofed away end when i started. Boxing day matches against county and the jacks used to be magic, the bob bank always apeared unending before the seats were put in, but it was only these big days that the whole bob bank gave it a go.
The roof on the grange made the noise sound a lot louder inside the stand. I would flit between the bob bank and the grange and was disappointed that every time we chose to sit in the bob bank the grange were having one of their quite days.
Not in denial - I loved NP, but its gone and luckily your brain only guards your good memories.....

Completely agree with this, it isn't the physical ground structure, but the supporters in it and the way the club treats them. We are still passionate supporters deep down, however the club has done everything in its power to destroy that passion and consequent atmosphere. From the way they set the stands up with the away support next to families to the re-brand, to the Nazi like sit down policy. One day, I am hopeful of an SH type character in charge who values the passion and atmosphere that we can create.

Its always easier to remember the good times when looking back as the mind subconsciously forgets the bad.
