I don't know much about fitness levels and where players are supposed to be at the various games in pre and start of season but I remember at the Camarthen game at Haverfordwest in pre season the starting x1 were put through quite a rigourous "warm down" during the half time interval and many players were really struggling with it and appeared to be rebelling against the guy that was taking the session. Not sure who was to blame here, was the management regime being over hard on the players in what was only the second pre season game or were the players not putting in the graft even at that stage. As I say I cant really tell but had the feeling even then that something was amiss.

I heard from a few people that Ole believed in fitness coming naturally through drills training so there was limited fitness-specific training. Very strange approach from a player that played at the highest level.

I believe the constant rotation of squad is to blame.

Squad rotation can preserve players and avoid injuries. It can also allow all the squad to have game time, however it can also demotivate key players, and this is what I think has happened. With a fixed squad in place, the other players will be fighting for a chance to get picked for the team!
