I wouldn't expect the players to stand up and say sorry although it would be a start, but if I was a City player and had been performing under par and giving less than 100% effort over the last few weeks I would certainly take a good look at myself in the mirror and ask myself "am I letting myself, the club and the supporters down"?
You can't kid yourself or be satisfied with sub standard performances if your not putting the effort in. Every City player should at a minimum leave nothing on the pitch at the end of every game, as professional sportsmen they should be wanting to win so much that it hurts (their body and their pride), we as fans can put up with our team losing a game if we witness our players giving it everything they've got but watching players just going through the motions is unforgivable.
Taking pride in their performances is the least they should be doing, they can't kid themselves, if they've lacked effort and fight they know it and deep down it should hurt them and their pride. THEN THEY SHOULD REACT AND PUT IT RIGHT.
