Anyone know anything about apprenticeships in South Wales? Don't really want to travel or move away yet so want something decent paying locally. Anywhere in South Wales will do though. Looking for something starting next year

Think Tata in port talbot should be taking on apprentices again this year not sure about llanwern. Applications usually open around dec/jan time for end of aug/sep start. I know fords in Bridgend have been taking quite a few apprentices on in recent years, Dow Corning also another option along with all the big companies like network rail, national grid etc

Send your CV into WPD ( Western Power Distribution). We take on apprentices regularly and have depots from Cornwall to Lincoln to West Wales.
You' end up being assigned as either a fitter, linesman or jointer. Great pay and a final salary pension.Give it a try.

Apprenticeships are difficult to come by these days and know a few people who sadly been left empty handed after places going bust etc.
With apprenticeships it's not what you know it's who you know these days.
