Makes me even more p1ssed off that we blew the chance on Friday to close the gap on the top 2 to 5 points.

More than that though I'm fuming that the players aren't fit enough. (As Gabbidon has revealed)

Guys on huge wages when as fans we work our bollox off to afford our overpriced season tickets and away trips and they repay us for our loyalty like that.

No wonder Cowie didn't want to hang around when his game was based around peak conditioning

And look where Cowie is now, in an underperforming team

Annis after 11 games 2 years ago we were not run away leaders, in fact we were in 2nd place on 22 points behind Leicester City on goal difference.

That year there were 8 teams within 3 points of top place, both ourselves (as winners) and Hull as runners up were in those 8 teams. That year 4 of the eventual top 6 were in the top 8 after 11 games and the other two teams Watford (11 pts) and Brighton (18pts) made up the playoffs finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.

In the last 11 seasons only 1 club, Sunderland (2006-07) with 13 pts after 11 games have gone on to win automatic promotion.

This season there are again 8 teams within 3 points of top place and I would bet now that at least 4 of the eventual top 6 will come from those 8 teams. The question is can we force our way into the eventual top 6 :? history tells us top 2 is highly unlikely. although possible, playoffs are more likely but still a hell of a challenge for our new manager.

To be honest I think that the Championship is a very open division this year. None of the teams are that consistent and there seem to be very few match-winning players. No real flair this year. For any team to move up into the top 6 all it is going to take is a run of 4 or 5 wins.

Gary, My mistake

So when did we become clear leaders?
I can see this Championship this season being very very close with many teams able to make the Top 2 and Top 6 :ayatollah:

Late November after about 18 games we were top and starting to build a gap. Winning at Leicester on 22nd December really sent us clear and the rest is history.

Win 8 of the 12 games between now and Christmas and we would likely be right in the mix. Big ask I know but that's what we need to do.
