Kenwyn Jones

I think Kenwyn Jones , even though he is our top scorer, is a problem that is a big reason why we are creating so few chances. I know our midfield is also not good enough , but we had more movement when he went off and did finally create chances. I would like to see a change and try a new combination , but run with two up front. All our other strikers are proven scorers and unless this changes soon we are going to get dragged into a relegation dog fight , which would be crazy with the squad we have.
defensively we are pretty settled , but not much cover at fullback , but Morrison is not good enough and lacks pace and positional awareness.
So work to be done , we could get a late run at the playoffs , but we need to start against Forest and hopefully get some player movement in and out and get some leaders in , particularly in midfield.

Yeah, valid points.

I think Jones either needs to play in a 4-4-2 with Le Fondre or another quicker player or has to play in a 4-3-3 with quick wingers either side of him to lay off to and provide crosses. Playing him as we did last night was pointless.

Exactly. Totally agree. The main reason that we are not scoring enough goals is because of the lack of movement from Kenwyne Jones. When Macheda came on and then later Le Fondre, both of their movement was good and we looked much better up front and more dangerous. Blackpool on a few occasions struggled with the movement and the link up play of Macheda and Le Fondre. Slade must make changes to our strike force, with Jones dropping down to the bench. We also need changes in midfield too. So Russel Slade does have a bit of a job on his hands managing this club. I amased that we have won only one away game in 13 months, that is diabolical. Ole has certainly done a number on the squad and i personally feel that Slade could be the man to instill confidence, fitness and character back into my club. Good luck Mr Slade.

I agree with all of the above.

People will argue that you cannot drop your top scorer, however, they need to look at the bigger picture - with more movement up front we'd more than likely be scoring more goals. So, while KJ weighs in with perhaps a goal every 3-4 games, overall, his lack of movement is denying the team more goals.

Spot on. You can see all this, I can see all this and I bet many other fans can see all the things you have just pointed out.... So surely slade can see it aswell?

If he does and can sort our problems out and inject some fight and hard work in to this quality squad we have, it is early enough in the season to go on a run hit form and get our selves right back in to the mix for the play offs and automotic promotion. Everyone is doom and gloom but 10 games down the line and this championship table could look very different, remember people anyone can beat anyone in this league and if we can hit form and get some condifence in this team the only way is up another 35 games to play!

Yes hes the problem

Im outraged that he has such a good reputation if we had two quality strikers on at all times we would be far better

Your spot on had this convo with my mates

You simply cannot play a 4-5-1 with a big man up top

You need a mobile guy up there making runs and pulling away defenders so the number 10 has more space not a static striker who just holds up and flicks on for me they should have spotted this sooner
