When there's an u expected result you can guarantee that it involves Cardiff.
The only point Fulham took in their first 8 games was against? - Cardiff
Blackpool, no win in 10. First victory against? - Cardiff
You just knew last night that Blackpool would come out on top. 'A team assembled for£200K' showed passion and desire and wanted to win the game more. They closed us down and were far more threatening in front of goal. In fact the scoreline should have been a lot more.
Cardiff went onto the pitch with the mentality that they are a multi million pound super team full of stars who were about to cruise through an easy game against a park team. What surprised me particularly in the first half was the lack of pace and fight in the team. We were so slow and we did not want it as much as Blackpool. 1 shot on target just before half time if you can call it that. We were terrible. No one wanted to take the responsibility of having an effort on goal. Plenty of sideways passing around the box but no attempts. It was boring.
As soon as Blackpool scored Cardiff seemed to switch on and all of a sudden there was a sense of urgency. Why does it take a goal from a bottom of the table winless team to kick start us? Surely if we are promotion candidates we should have gone out there from the 1st minute and pressed Blavkpool and taken the game to them. There was no urgency or ambition whatsoever to win the game. What were the management doing? Surely they should have been bombarding the team with instructions to give it a go and to bombard the Blackpool goal with efforts but it looked as if we were just going through the motions expecting an easy win.
Well done Blackpool, they got what they deserved and Cardiff were shocking.
