The fact that Malky got us up with a worse squad than what we have now shows how good of a manager he really was. The whole racism issue aside,in terms of just football, Mackay still remains the best manager this club has ever had imo.

I have said many times MM was the best manager we have had, made a mistake yes but we wouldn't be in this mess now if he was still here. Malky had it all IMO. Best manager we've had, adored by the fans, respected by Tan. Until everything came out then he did ruin it for himself. Which is a shame because I'm a massive fan of Malky and loved watching the team when he was at the club.

Completely agree with OP. How many times have we seen teams with money thrown at them by clueless owners implode? MM without a doubt the best manager we have ever had and whatever the truth behind all the off field stuff, I would have him back in a breath. I'll fully back RS of course but I honestly don't think VT cares anymore. It appears that he's now too busy looking to buy further teams to increase his football team portfolio and willing to toss us aside like a spoit petulant child would do to a toy that its bored of.

Completely agree, Malky had a clear vision of how to put a squad together and what he expected from them, work ethic and togetherness was massive. His football might not have been everyones cup of tea but at the end of the day it was effective.

We couldn't possibly take Malky back after everything that has gone on but someone in a similar mould is what we are craving, the quality of our squad is there but it needs structure and leadership, the most disjointed squad I've ever witnessed, could be so promising.

I don't want Malky back but I agree with the sentiment.

In his interview Tan told fans to try getting promotion without the money he provided for players. I think he will find out over the next few years how difficult it is to get promoted without a good manager. Hopefully it won't take forever but I am already convinced that Slade is not the right choice just like I was convinced from the start that Solskjaer was not the right choice. Hoping I am not right this time.

I hope he gets the Bolton job. That would really rub the salt in tans eyes.

I personally had a fond experience of Malky when I met him. He did wonders for this club. However, his position was untenable after what he did and I wouldn't want him back. However, he's not one of a kind. There are other managers we could have got out there that would have a similar impact.

I feel sorry for Slade. He's been written off before he's come in. I will back him whilst he is our manager as I did with Solskjaer but right now it's fairly obvious that Tan is the problem. Putting all his decision-making eggs in one basket by always seeking counsel from one person instead of a group of people. He hasn't got a clue and it's shown for a while now.

not disputing what he done annis but 18mnths is not a basis to judge him the greatest ect ect , you cannot dispute either we were on slide down regardless of reasons (tan) with him, ole was a disaster which at the moment we are paying for but still think we will be promoted if slade can give players confidence in their ability which they have in abundance
