An agreement has been reached with Leyton Orient.

' Cardiff and Orient 'resolve their differences' over Russell Slade '
03/10/14

Russell Slade is expected to be unveiled as Cardiff City’s new manager over the weekend.

According to Sky sources, Leyton Orient and Cardiff have resolved their differences opening the way for the 53-year-old to move to south Wales.

Bluebirds owner Vincent Tan has been chasing Slade since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left Cardiff in the middle of September.

However, over the past three weeks Slade’s likely move from League One Orient to Championship side Cardiff had been put on hold because of a dispute between the clubs.

But it now appears that all differences have been resolved.

Slade, the League One manager of the season for 2013/14, has been at Brisbane Road since April 2010.

' Russell Slade to travel to Blackpool with Cardiff City squad '

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=148738 :thumbright:

Russell Slade will travel with the Cardiff City squad for the first time for Friday's Championship game at Blackpool, BBC Wales Sport understands.

Cardiff want to appoint Slade as their new manager as soon as possible.

Slade has been helping Cardiff as a consultant since quitting Leyton Orient boss on 24 September.

His presence with the squad, who are flying to the north west of England on Friday morning, is the strongest indication an appointment is close.
But if Slade is not confirmed on Friday then caretaker managers Scott Young and Danny Gabbidon will again be in charge at bottom side Blackpool.
The pair have been in temporary charge since former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stepped down on 18 September.

Young and Gabbidon have held talks with owner Vincent Tan and Slade but insisted they had control of team selection ahead of the match at Bloomfield Road.

Cardiff are unbeaten in three league matches under Young and Gabbidon, although they lost 3-0 against Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup.
Former Notts County and Yeovil manager Slade watched Cardiff's 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday and was at Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Brighton.
The Bluebirds and Slade's former side, League One Leyton Orient, are in dispute over his proposed appointment at the Welsh club.
Goalkeeper David Marshall said after the game at Brighton he was hopeful Slade would be confirmed as Cardiff's new boss by the end of the week.

He will be against it, to turn around the mess that Ole has left us.
Can't forgive Ole sorry, and what he's done to this once knitted squad.
Can't forgive the fans for believing that every player we bring in is better than what we got.

Why do those pampered overpaid nancies need to FLY to Blackpool?

Perhaps they should have spent 6 hours on the motorway like the fans who travelled there and face the same on the way back to be rewarded with that shit performance.

I'd make the tossers walk back!

Another defeat Vincent, you've done a fine job of ruining this club. Russel Slade stay well away, it'll end in tears and your reputation, like those beforehand will end in tatters. I never wanted Slade here bare that in mind.

Cardiff City: Russell Slade set to be confirmed new manager

Cardiff City are expected to finally appoint ex-Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade as their new manager on Monday.
Slade, 53, has been helping the Championship club as a consultant since quitting as Orient manager.

The Bluebirds and Slade's former side have been in dispute over his proposed appointment at the Welsh club.

Cardiff have been managerless since ex-Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stepped down on 18 September.
Scott Young and Danny Gabbidon have been in caretaker charge since Solskjaer's departure and were at the helm for Friday's 1-0 defeat at Blackpool.
Slade travelled with the Cardiff City squad for the first time for the Championship game at Bloomfield Road as he worked in his consultancy role.

The former Notts County and Yeovil manager had previously watched Cardiff's 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday and was at the 1-1 draw at Brighton.
Slade tendered his resignation as manager of League One side Orient on 24 September.

The O's initially rejected an approach for Slade, who had been their manager since 2010, and he subsequently spoke of his frustration at not being permitted to talk to Cardiff before quitting as manager of the League One side the following day.
Legal discussions between the clubs have delayed Slade's appointment but he is now expected to take charge of a side currently 15th in the Championship .

Club owner Vincent Tan has said he hopes Slade can beat Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's 18-year long-service record.
Slade started his managerial career at Notts County in 1994 and has also managed Scarborough, Grimsby Town, Yeovil Town and Brighton.
