A forum for all things Cardiff City

There is talk around London that Cardiff City FC are for sale at £80million, meaning Tan Sri Vincent Tan is actively looking to sell at a loss.
Tan Sri accepts that he will not get the value of loans he has put into the club but is willing to sell at £80million if a buyer can be found.
At recent meeting with club officials, Cardiff City Supporters Trust have raised concerns about staff wages. Staff such as stewards, get £8.75 per hour for four and a half hours per match, they also receive holiday pay and a free food and drink voucher every game, Tan Sri recently made cut backs but he chose to keep our own stewards employed by the club and cut back on stewards supplied by an independent firm, safe style. Cardiff City employed stewards are well looked after and Tan Sri and Mehmet Dalman are dismayed that anyone should think otherwise.
Mehmet Dalman has invested some of his own money into the club as he continues to enjoy his ever expanding role at the club. The chairman has become more involved than he suspected he ever would when he first arrived in Cardiff.
Russell Slade has agreed a two and half year deal to become Cardiff City's next manager, the hold up is because Leyton Orient have not accepted Slade's resignation and Tan Sri Vincent Tan knows they are only holding out for more money even though Tan Sri had matched the buy out clause in Slade's contract.
Tan Sri Vincent Tan had instructed a bank account to transfer the £100,000 buy out clause last week.
Slade has been offered £120,000 per annum to manage City, a little higher than he was on at Orient.
Russell Slade has asked the club to make an approach for his number two at Orient, Kevin Nugent, but even though the approach has been made, the terms that are offered to Nugent are not deemed high enough by the former Bluebird to make a return.
Tan Sri Vincent is becoming impatient with Leyton Orient and it may not happen this week either as Orient are threatening to take the matter all the way to court. The word around the club is that they hope to get it done by Thursday but if Orient do take the matter to court then Tan Sri will look to pull the plug on the deal.
If Slade is introduced as manager then you can expect a director of football to become part of the set up and Glenn Roeder, who advised Tan Sri on Russell Slade, will take on the role.

Staff,
We know that after posting a thread you say nothing more on that thread but can you clarify how Glenn Roeder came to be involved with the club please and why Vicent Tan seems so keen to have him on board?
I realise you will probably not reply on this thread but perhaps next time you post you could give us an answer.

A bargain at £80million. IF the debt is wiped out before hand.
If it is not I cannot see how Tan will be making a loss on the sale.

Would be nice if a buyer is found before Slade and Roeder are appointed.

If true , could've all been avoided, if Vincent Tan shown just one iota of respect towards the club & it's fanbase!

If he came out and said mistakes have been made and put the club back to blue with are old badge, employed Pulis or equivalent quality manager, then got us back up he would become a legend if he embraced the fans and club rather than feel like we owe him

I know that. Just saying it wouldn't take much to unite the club and fans. He's to pig headed to do it. Would rather sell up.

Fan buy out;
2 investors x £20,000,000 (20,000 shares & votes each)
5 investors x £5,000,000 (5,000 shares & votes each)
5 fans x £1,000,000 (1,000 shares & votes each)
That's your board. Then;
10 fans x £500,000 (500 shares & votes each)
100 fans x £10,000 (10 shares & votes each)
1000 fans x £2,000 (2 shares & votes each)
2000 fans x £1,000 (1 share & vote each)
No single £20m investor has overall control and would need other votes to get decisions made.
Well that's my idiotic plan. Are my sums correct?

That £80m would be with Tan writing off the debt.
Only way this club will get sold is if we get promotion.
IMHO Tan will stay until he gets us up and then will sell.
No-one will pay anywhere near £80k for a Championship club .
So all those who are hoping for failure are shooting themselves in the foot if they want tan out/blue back. As has always been the case.

120k per annum??
Christ even dave jones was on 8-900k per annum! Most these players earn that in a fortnight!
Sun Sep 28, 2014 4:49 pm
This isn't news as it was rumoured that the club has been up for sale in April!!!

Interesting Carlos
Sun Sep 28, 2014 5:38 pm
He is deluded. No one is going to buy this club for 80mil
Not playing well and falling attendances = no chance
Sun Sep 28, 2014 5:46 pm
Reading an article on Karen Brady and noticed that Brum were bought for £83million, I would say we are a far better prospect, so who knows

Villa up for sale £100m
Sun Sep 28, 2014 6:17 pm
Better stories in the beano what a load of bullshite tan instructs bank to pay 100 k what for?? Billionaires don't sell to lose millions either unfortunately
Sun Sep 28, 2014 6:20 pm
So what is Slades current position at Orient?
Did they aceept his resignation, if not why was Nugent put in charge.
Have they stuck him on gardening leave and are still paying him?
Its all confusing. I cannot see Orient taking this to court its just two billionaires arguing over pennies.

I was asked this question by a Director.
" Who wants Tan out more than you Annis? " I replied " I dont know, thousands of fans feel the same as me," With that the answer was " Tan himself."
