VS Wednesday Player Performances and Hopefully Team For Tues

Marshall - An okay performance didn't have too much to do. I was really happy to see him barking orders at the team to push up the pitch and organising the defence (As deep down I believe an out field player should be captain. One issue for me which needs improvement is his distribution.

Brayford - Great performance today back and forward all day. Got stuck in aerial battles and some crunching tackles great commitment.

Bruno - Brilliant performance today - Great in the air, Good composure on the ball and pace to cover when needed. Great signing.

Morrison - May lack some pace and agility (However that is why him and Bruno are such a good partnership) strong in aerial battles throughout against a big physical attack today. Hopefully this partnership with Bruno can grow.

Fabio - Best performance of the 4 defenders today which says a lot as they all stepped up to the plate. Brilliant clearance off the line early, Running up and down the wing throughout even though having some time out with injury. Lacked protection from Pilkington some times however he was on a one man mission.

Whittingham - Don't get me wrong he can put in a good set piece and in the past he has performed brilliantly for the club however the position he played for the team today which is the only position he can fit in doesn't suite his game and we have better options. He was a passenger for a lot of the game, weak in the tackle and doesn't give are defence the protection needed from that position.

Gunarsson - 100% Commitment today throughout, I have not been his biggest fan throughout this season but today he looked back to his best breaking up play in the centre of the park. Where we have struggled so much this season.

Pilkington - Start with the one big positive he took his GOAL brilliantly today and shows that he has got still got the class he showed for Norwich before injuries. However, on the other hand he isn't showing his class often enough for my liking. He finds himself out of position often which leads Fabio 2 against 1, lack of pace and slows down the play. Hopefully he can show his class in larger spell throughout games in the future.

Noone - A little Bias as he is my favourite player and I know his performance today wasn't as good as we have seen however it was still easily one of the best on the pitch, Put himself around the park looks very confident on the ball and offers some pace we really need. Another big plus which isn't pointed out or noticed as much is he doesn't mind putting in the dirty work going backwards towards his own goal. Can only get better and better with an increase in his fitness.

Daelhi - Struggled with the physical nature of the Championship this year however today he was everywhere defending and attacking he was very confident on the ball and made many defence splitting runs and dribbles. Linked up very well with Ravel when he came on. When he plays that Number 10 role or LAM he offers so much more for the team ( Only play LAM to fit Ravel in the number 10 role).

KJ - Battled in the air however didn't actually win as many balls as usual. Put himself around the park throughout the first 45 minutes however this lead to him being a sitting passenger for a lot of the second half. But great to see his commitment level increase greatly from last year. On the other hand his goals have dried up and when he is in the team we do end up playing a lot of hoof ball. I believe he would be better used as an impact sub when defenders are tired.

Subs

Macheda - Struggled greatly when he came on he looks like he is still struggling with fitness and also that his confidence is shot. On a few occasions he was played through however he lacked the composure and touch required. However he has a good scoring record at previous clubs, so with less hoof ball and more quick passing and movement more chances will be created and I believe when 1 comes many more should follow.

Ravel - Different class - Composure, Pace, Agility, Skill - The cutting edge spark and creativity we have been missing. When his fitness increases he could become a serial match winner. If teams try to put several bodies on him this will generate space for Noone and Daelhi.

Ralls - Only on for a few minutes but we saw the game out.

Happy to see a strong team put out but more importantly players in their correct positions. The team I would love to see on Tuesday night: GK Marshall RB Brayford CB'S Bruno and Morrison LB Fabio HOLDING CM'S Gunarsson and Adeyami RAM Noone LAM Daelhi CAM Ravel ST Guerra if not Jones
