' Time for Cardiff City stars to show pride in the famous Bluebirds shirt. ' :ayatollah:

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the new manager, Cardiff City's players must display passion and commitment against Sheffield Wednesday.

There is an age-old cliche footballers invariably trot out in troubled times about events off the field of play not affecting what happens on it.

“We’re professional, when we cross the white line it’s just about us winning the game,” we are constantly told.

Well that being the case, it’s time for Cardiff City’s players to put those words into action and walk the walk against Sheffield Wednesday.

What the paying customer has had to endure in the last three home matches has been completely unacceptable.

The second half against Norwich, when the Bluebirds conceded four goals, was shambolic. The 90 minutes against Middlesbrough three days on was limp, lacklustre and lacking in any cohesion.

However, even those two horror shows paled by comparison to the pitiful performance against Bournemouth, when Bluebirds fans voted with their feet by streaming out by half-time. Their team 3-0 down, demoralised supporters had simply had enough.

Well, the fightback has to start right here and it is the duty of the highly-paid players to right the wrongs and bring a smile back to our faces.

Footballers do like an excuse or three and it’s easy for them to use the uncertainty and delay surrounding Russell Slade’s appointment as one.

Yes, these players lack direction, organisation and leadership. But they didn’t have too much of that when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge, anyhow. There are lots of experienced men in this Cardiff team and they have to grasp the nettle themselves.

The absolute minimum Cardiff fans demand of anyone wearing the shirt is 100 per cent commitment to the cause. And then a little bit more on top, too.

It’s that type of spirit which endeared warriors like Phil Dwyer, Don Murray, Phil Stant and more recently Craig Bellamy to Bluebirds fans and established their positions in Cardiff folklore.

Every player chosen to start against Wednesday has a duty to leave absolutely nothing out on the pitch. The chosen substitutes must back them to the hilt. Those left out of the match-day 18, noses put out of joint or not, must also rally around, cajole and support.

The fans want to believe in this team. It’s down to the players to give hope.

Do you honestly think that any of our players ( most of whom were signed after the switch to red ) give a flying toss about what colour shirt they wear?

Or what club they are with as long as they are earning a ridiculous salary without having to put in too much effort.

' Time for Cardiff City stars to show pride in the famous Bluebirds shirt.'

Now that sentence really shows Tan's brazen disregard for our history and identity. Argh!

StT.

I don't expect them to have any pride wearing that red shite. All the shirt represents is grotesque rebranding of a once proud club. I expect them to want to succeed in their careers as this is a young squad we have and they should want to do better

Not many. Players who are closest to the fans like Hudson was are most likely to care. I don't think we have any like him at present

Before some of you start chirping about the colour the message is Fukin simple.

Last few games been static, gutless with no fight. We all want to see a bit if passion for the team
