The Chairman and the CEO of Leyton Orient have received a resignation letter from Russell Slade a few minutes ago. This has not happened by chance after the Club rejected this afternoon, a proposal from the General Manager of Cardiff City regarding the transfer of Russell Slade. The lawyers of the Club are now studying the file.

If he was sacked and reinstated a few days ago he might just be able to walk anyway.
Employment law is a bit of a minefield, but he could potentially claim his role was untenable.

We have to be careful here .
If proven he has been tapped up we could be in big trouble , transfer bans , point deductions , fines .
This could get messy I and the orient chairman sounds like a guy not to cross !

bit like tan then, but city did contact club 3times so unlikley we done anything wrong, also by his actions regarding threatening the sack by orients owner underminds his arguement!

This has got to be tricky to prove that he was "tapped up". It has been all over the news since Saturday that we have asked permission to speak to him, and Orient have refused. We didn't have to speak to him about this, other people have put it in the public domain. I'm pretty sure that as long as we didn't promise him directly that if he resigned we would give him the job, then we should be OK.
