Cardiff City performance 'hurt' says caretaker boss Scott Young

Cardiff City 0 Bournemouth 3

Joint caretaker manager Scott Young says Cardiff City's 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup was unacceptable.

Dan Gosling scored either side of Charlie Daniels' left-footed drive to secure Bournemouth's place in the fourth round.
Defeat marked another low for managerless Cardiff, who have won just two Championship games and sit in 17th.
"That's not good enough for Cardiff City Football Club," Young said.

Former Bluebirds centre-halves Young and Danny Gabbidon were placed in temporary charge following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Wales defender Gabbidon was one of eight changes for Cardiff, making his first Bluebirds appearance in nine years.

“If you haven't got desire, hard work and commitment then there's no point being out there”

But it was a miserable evening for the veteran and joint interim manager Young, as Cardiff were knocked out of the League Cup by Championship rivals Bournemouth.
"That first 30 minutes performance is nowhere near the standard we set at this football club," Young added.
"I said to the players that the core values of this club when you pull that shirt on is determination, desire, work rate and everything like that.
"That's what they need to realise. They're paid to play for this football club.
"You need to have desire to play football. If you haven't got desire, hard work and commitment then there's no point being out there."

Cardiff, who host Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship on Saturday, are still interested in talking to Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade about their vacant managerial post.

Orient rejected an approach for 53-year-old Slade, who has been their manager since 2010, while Young said he would be happy to remain in charge for the time being.

"I'm sure we'll sit down with the chairman and the chief executive and see where it takes us," Young said.
"I definitely want to be in charge for Saturday because we need to rectify that.
"It's hurt me - this is my football club. It's hurt me and I want to put that right."

The supporters are sharing Scott Young pain.

However is Scott ready for this job? With Guerra not bothering to return to the dug out after being substituted tells me it is a lot worse than we all thought. It is bad enough being told our players are unfit but to show no respect to the management decision is a lot worse in my mind. To me it sounds like there is no confidence in Young being there from the players.

I wasn't there last night but to single out 2 players from a disastrous start must be awful for the 2 subbed. I actually feel sorry for them as there performance level was probably on par with the rest.
