For the love of Christ please do away with this obscene suicidal trend of playing strikers as wingers.
We're shipping in goals for fun but most of them are coming from teams targeting our full backs (mainly down the left), however the main reason for this is because they are doubling up on either flank as our "wingers" are lost and never track back.
(Maynard for Bournemouth's second goal tonight was perfect case in point, watches the guy play a give & go and smash it home while Maynard just, well I don't know what he did except put his arms out in front of him as if he was going to block the runner instead of going with him?!?)
If you look over the goals conceded this season I bet you won't find many that have come from carving us open through the middle?
ALF, Macheda and Maynard have been asked to play out wide, they've been terrible but they are strikers. If they aren't as good in the manager's opinion as the strikers he picks on match day then so be it....BUT DON'T BLOODY SHOVE THEM IN THE TEAM FOR THE FECKING SAKE OF IT!
We have plenty of wingers....Pilkington, Noone (now he's edging back to fitness), Burgstaller, Declan - yes he's a winger and always will be, he's never been a full back...ever!(Even on the official website it says Declan John, Midfielder ffs!) Kadeem (unless he's out on loan which I didn't think he was?) Even Daelhi who I still think is one of best hopes in years but in a more central no.10 role.
All I'm asking is when you come (whoever you are) please use the wide men we have at the club specific for the roles they were brought here for. Oh - and show them what a touchline looks like and tell them it's not a criminal offence if they happen to get chalk on their boots.
Thanks in advance
