Too Many Overseas Players?

Tue Sep 23, 2014 9:53 pm

Seems to me that we have a team full of players who are happy to pick up their monthly wages while doing the minimum amount of work. None of our players have any real links to the city they represent on the pitch, and would be just as happy playing for any other club as long as the money is right. Not just our club facing these problems. These players may be gifted, and when things are going well can turn on the style. When things start getting tough, they tend to disappear, no getting stuck in and really fighting to turn things around.
The sort of British players who wear their heart on their sleeves (Gerrards, Rooneys, etc) seem to be a vanishing breed, particularly in the top two divisions. Need to have people like Jason Parry, Andy Legg and the likes, people who won't go down without a fight. Need a manager who is prepared to give the players a kick up the arse, and knows the people who will always give 100%. I can stomach us being well beaten if the players have given everything they have. Unfortunately, we can all see that this is not happening, and whatever we think of Tan, he is paying these players a great deal of money. The least he should expect in return is a great deal of effort..
