Pullis exclusive

Tue Sep 23, 2014 5:22 pm

A text that i have recieved off a very reliable source that i thought i would share with you.

Whilst it is correct than no approach has been made to Mr Pullis, there is a very good explanation that the Cardiff Fans need to understand . Whilst it's regarded no doubt Mr Pullis is a very good and successful Manager, Mr Pullis was in the Cardiff owners eyes part of the process last season to when team selection information was relayed between management teams. For this reason alone Mr Tan feels it not appropriate to make an approach to Mr Pullis for employment .

Hopefully this might explain why he is no longer our radar.

Isn't that what Blakey suggested yesterday on the Bootroom?

Makes sense as an explanation if Tan and Dalman really have decided not to approach him.

(Bad decision, though).

Any Manager would act on information provided, this all leads back to Moody and the result another Manager is dragged down.

Unfortunately, it explains a lot and we loose out on the man who would IMO turn things around for us..

Still get a good result tonight and bounce back and go on a long winning streak.

Is taking every advantage for your team to win a bad thing then???

That's exactly the win at all costs type of Manager we need FFS

Looking the other way when it suits is epidemic in football - see our latest edition today - and this would certainly be one of those occasions where looking the other way would be in our interest!

It's a bad decision no doubt but people must see way the club won't approach him they thinks he's involved

Pulis quoted as saying they had the same team for 3 weeks prior to the game, and they ruined us that day. Still obviously it's the principal of what happened, but did he act on any information received or did he ask for any information to be sent to him, I guess that's what would be judged.

That could explain a lot, VT may know a lot more than us on what went on with the whole situation regarding the leaking of the team and maybe Pulis had more of an involvement than we have been lead to believe, however, if VT felt that strongly about it, then why is Pulis being employed as a pundit for VTs own TV station?? That doesn't add up??

Cut the crap the Women's Institute would have drilled City that afternoon, as for morals in football please spare me. Pulis is a winner. In case those of you have not realised it yet we are currently unfit, managerless, a laughing stock with a owner who is clueless.Besides do you think Tan made his money being reasonable chap!!!!!! What world are some people living in????

Makes sense

Re: Pullis exclusive

Personally I think most managers are up to no good. To much money involved and so much pressure with so many cash incentives to succeed or even just stay up. If Pullis did use underhand tactics along with Moody then that was bang out of order. But to be fair Palarce absolutely smashed us that day and TBH they really didn't need to know our formation.
If it's success Tan wants then Pullis is the Man. :bluescarf:

Indeed makes no sense whatsoever.

Sam the man and Dave Jones threaten CCFC with court action and end up back here. Can't see this being a good reason to not employ Pulis.

Re: Pullis exclusive

Slightly different Ian Sam was owed Money so to knock a bit off or keep him sweet they offer him life presidency. Jones was to claim money owed. As far as Tan most probably sees is Pullis won that game unfairly and had we won that game we might of gone on to stay in the Prem.

Me too! (Particularly after the Bournemouth fiasco; for which I don't totally blame the players) ;)

Heard from someone tonight but not my usual that Tan interferes with team selection and also did last night. How can our team fly like Eagles when they are surrounded by Turkeys.

Re: Pullis exclusive

It would be ironic that they let him slip away (twice) and then we get relegated again. He'd have kept us up in the PL and would definitely get us pushing on for promotion this season.

EXACTLY! :thumbright: :ayatollah:

So can someone defend Tan on this, and just enlighten me as to what Pulis actually did wrong?

Its costing us a Welsh reining Premier League Manager of the year willing to make a sacrifice for us in one of our darkest hours!!!

Re: Pullis exclusive

A few things.

Last year we were outraged at this - now because we want pulis it's acceptable? Hmm
As much as I want Pulis, I do understand Tan's thinking behind it
Last year we blamed Crystal Palace - not just one or two individuals - now it's all moody?

Make up your minds people!

For the record - I do want Pulis here, just an observation...

A good point well made, fella!

Unfortunately, we live in Football World, where a week is often a very long time and each club must do whatever is necessary to protect/advance itself! ;)

In football, morals are as shallow as the water in a dessert stream! :laughing6: :laughing6:

If Pulis is being shunned for those reasons, then how come he was working for Tan's tv companies in Malaysia?

Obviously I don't know the details of what went on behind the scenes but personally I don't see a problem with appointing Pulis because of what went on with Palace.

Firsty it was moody who made the approach. This was bang out of order. Secondly a member of staff at Cardiff City gave Moody the information. That is an even worse crime. OK, so Moody showed Pulis the team. What manager wouldn't be interested in that? Hardly a crime. Pulis said he'd already picked his team to play us. He didn't need to know our team as they would have beaten us whoever we put out that day.

If this is the real reason for Tan not approaching Pulis then he must be stupid as it's become obvious in recent games that our overpaid rabble are unfit and disorganised, and while I'm not a huge fan of Pulis' style of play I think he is exactly what we need to get us fit and organised. :bluescarf:

Re: Pullis exclusive

The then-Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis strongly denied the accusations at the time, saying: ‘You look at it, for three weeks we have picked the same formation and same team, we haven’t changed anything.
‘Irrespective of who or where it has come from it is pure speculation until the team-sheet comes in. Although I try to avoid it myself, I have known managers change the team 10 minutes before the team sheets have gone in so it is very difficult to say it is definitely going to be that team.’

A prominent Cardiff source claimed to Sportsmail at the time that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had only learned of Moody’s alleged efforts when a message sent from Moody's phone was received by Bolton manager Dougie Freedman in error.
The message, which contained the starting 11 that Solskjaer ultimately fielded against Palace, was forwarded on to Solskjaer, who opted against changing his team.

He is believed to have confronted Pulis ahead of the fixture.

Cardiff’s complaint included a text from Moody naming midfielder Aron Gunnarsson as the source of the information.
Cardiff claimed it read: ‘Straight from Gunnarsson their line up is 4-4-2 Marshall, KTC, Caulker, Turner, Taylor, Daehli, Medel, Mutch, Zaha, Campbell, Jones.’

Gunnarsson denied any involvement and Solskjaer publicly supported the player.
