FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BANNING ORDERS OF THE SOUTH WALES POLICE
There is a rumour going around that a lot of youngster may have football banning orders imposed on them for association. The police CAN legally do this under section 14 (b) 2nd limb of the football related offence laws.

Basically they can gather evidence of persons being associated with trouble by being there on the frontline even if they haven't done a lot, or if they have used threatening words occasionally, that type of thing.

If you are unlucky enough to be arrested you should plead not guilty, any good solicitor should be able to get you off the charges provided you haven't blatantly broken any laws, although the couple of 100 word dossiers they produce on individuals make them out to be one man crime waves.

Can't really understand why South wales police have changed there stance on this up until a couple of years ago they would only prosecute under section 14 (a) of the football act which means they require hard evidence showing them committing a crime to convict a person, whether it's down to the change in commanders, or our falling arrest figures I'm not sure, but there appears to be a major shift in policy.

The Football supporters Federation has a network of Solicitors who are all used to fighting and winning cases and behalf of football fans wrongly accused by the police and CPS visit there web site for more details.

Hopefully I'm proved wrong but of what I hear it has already started.
