THE NEXT MANAGER IS IN THE HANDS OF

Sun Sep 21, 2014 8:43 pm

Our Director of Football whoever that will be. And Tan is still yet to decide or persuade who that is going to be.
Tan will rely on the DOF to place a manager in charge of day to day running of team affairs and coaching. Tan seeking someone he can trust with good football knowledge.
It sounds like Jones is Tans first choice and it's a matter of persuading him to change his mind. Twists and turns I said last night and that is just the case. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Yes that is true Annis and Jones choice of manager was Coops till Jones decided he didn't want the DOF.

This is my issue withe the DoF role. If Tan employed both independently they would need to gel and may not be able to work together.

If, as you have said Nukes, Tan employs the DoF and leaves it to him. He will employ someone he can control and will not cause him issues. We then get a yes man with no opinion.

Anyone that works for Tan has to be a yes Man. Jones knows Coops and respects him immensely and so does Tan.

Who would really want the head coach role and only be responsible for the team affairs and coaching.. The only person I can think of would be Steve Clarke who is an outstanding number 2 and coach..

Appointing the dof is going to be even more important. Dj in my opinion is not that man. Difficult to work with...

Just like the relationship between a DOF and Manager has to be good it's the same between owner and DOF. Tan and Jones have remained close despite his sacking by us and Tan trusts him impeccably.

Tan and jones are both fuckwits and neither are experts on football matters, we are destined to fail with dj calling the shots whoever the manager ends up to be.
This director of football nonsense is shite

Having dj in charge of transfers is hardly inspiring is it?

So are we waiting for a DOF before we get a manager ??

Jonesy was sacked because the club thought he couldn't take us that extra step to promotion to the Prem, Malky came in and did it in his second season. What makes the club think Jonesy can now take us that extra step? The nearly man is now 3 years older and even less chance of taking us up. Hates the local media and people from this area as well...backwards step!

Jones was never given the chance with the MONEY the past two managers since him have had thats just it people seem to forget when tan changed the manager after that he invested heavy in the club yet jones was doing it on the cheap compared to the last two but lets hide this fact

But that is irrelevant he lost control of the dressing room, players were allowed to do what they want and get away with it. He showed zero respect for the fans. Jones showed himself to be an arrogant man and it overshadowed the fact he did produce some attractive football. But as a DOF I think it would suit him but as manager ? No way.

"Zero respect to the fans".....Tan will love him for that.

Re: THE NEXT MANAGER IS IN THE HANDS OF

We really don't need any more arrogance anywhere... we're already topped up with that.

Normally, I'm against the DoF idea on the whole, but I'd agree we DO need somebody in the "higher ups" here who actually knows about football. Business is business, and obviously Tan knows what he's doing in that kind of sense, but football is heart, and soul, and passion... and we need somebody in an influential position who has this.

Jones though... I'm not convinced...

Not so much because of his skills... but just because of his mentality, which has been mentioned above.

This puzzles me we have been told that Tan is looking to reduce staff and save costs so why employ TWO people a DOF AND a Coach when you could employ one?

I know it will not happen but give the Team Managers role to Tony Pulis and stop f**king about if he gets the team right and playing to their full potential everything else takes care of itself :old:

To be honest we could probably employ both positions for less than the amount Pulis would demand. Plus likely for much much smaller compensation when it goes tits up.

Jones the best manager we have had since eddie may, if giving the money malky and ole had he would of taking us up easily, just because jones had the personality of a soggy sponge doesn't hide the facts jones was great for us and one a shit budget and nearly got us over the line, he can't always take the blame for the heartache, I'd love to have jones back has manager and with the financial backing ole n malky had

Hi Mate, If we have Jones has DOF I don't think he would come cheap and he cost us a fair bit in compensation last time :o Don't think Pulis would cost us anymore than OGS and if he was left to do his job I honestly think he would get us up so no need to pay him compensation however I don't think for one minute Tan will employ Pulis :(

I know he told a malaysian tv interview that he hadn't been approached (but this was almost a week ago) BUT he also said he'd prefer to stay in the premier league...

Suppose it depends how much money he's offered though...

Still. Wouldn't want to be around CCS if him and Tan had a falling out... (which would happen in what, 3 weeks, couple of months?)
