FOOTBALL LATELY BORES ME, WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Sun Sep 21, 2014 8:31 pm

This summer after watching my first love "athletics" and the commonwealth games and european championships i`ve been "finally" fed up of football ... it was while watching Andy Murray and switching over during transfer deadline day when the presenter was getting excited about going through the 800 million transfer mark ... all i kept thinking was wtf as happened to the game i loved .... i go to city with my 14 year old son but if he turns to me and says "dad, ive had enough" i`d turn my back on the game forever because the day of the working man being able to afford football IS DEAD ..... RIGHT without being CALLED a prick and abusing me, WHATS your view on todays football?

Its pricing the fans out of football. Watch next year when our price freeze finishes. I think the FSF needs to do more in England and Wales by having fans at every club selecting a home game and then boycotting one home game to bring this into the news and national media.

To be totally honest for the money a night down the Devils is better value than a City game.
Atmosphere's a lot better as well.

I've always loved the game of football itself, but the over analysis in the media and amount of money swilling around tend to do my box in.

When words and phrases like 'deluded' and 'at this level' keep cropping up among fans, you can see what I mean - everyone has an opinion but none of it means anything at the end of the day.

Lee your dead rite there football for me is on its last legs, id rather go fishing or work these days as theres hardly any feeling on a match day where i once got up buzzing years ago. times change and so have the clapping fan base and its not for me anymore. I go watch when i can be arsed or my seat remains empty ive been to THREE games this season thats it and tbh it done nothing for me really but make me realise how much the club i once loved has changed to something i dont even recognise anymore i felt very little for the team or club sadly. its more or a chore & habbit now looking for results. Such is life things change

I don't think the price of the tickets is a huge problem. Not ideal, granted but it runs way deeper than that. The gap between the fan and the game has never been wider. There is no sense of togetherness and achievement these days, its very much lime watching 11 men earn a fortune while achieving their goals and dreams where as before it felt very much an "in it together" type scenario. If we won promotion id feel as if i had actually won it on that pitch as well. Now it seems a very distant relationship. And to a large degree that probably is due to money and the amount of celebrity now attached to these players.

So bores me? No. Disappoints me? Certainly.

It certainly does down the ccs. The atmosphere is pathetic and I'm bored to tears

So expensive, I have only been able to go to like 5 matches a year. Of course, it doesn't help that I live away from Cardiff but I try to go to away games when they're nearby, but it's hardly affordable to do it every week. Love the team, love the football but you're dead right about the pricing.

And if you're not into the football anymore, that's your opinion and anyone who calls you a prick isn't worth your time :thumbright:

I think that as fans that are probably keener than most, the off-field rubbish, re-brand, disastrous PL season and further turmoil has without a doubt tainted my enjoyment, NQAT. My 13 year boy now much prefers our away trips, which is not to say we don't enjoy the CCS but the increasingly flat atmosphere combined with the above has definitely had a negative affect on what I probably would imagine is every fan. Members on this mb and others are probably more obsessed with our club than most fans so it possibly means more to us than the average fan but for sure, whist I don't find it boring, home games have become not so enjoyable. I'll be there for every home game and quite a few aways - the club should be doing more to show its appreciation of a fan base that is still loyal but has taken and continues to take a right kicking. The current manager situation is also adding greatly to frustrations with seemingly obvious choices apparently not being pursued by the club. Most of us were looking forward to what appeared to be a promising season in the Championship and putting last season behind us but once again, we are unsettled with fans nervous about the clubs next move.

Its dead
no atmosphere any more..why ? Too many sit and watch with a hot drink and a sandwich.

The reason football was so good years ago was because of the aggressive banter between fans, I dont mean the fighting, I am on about banter.

There is no fierce rivalry anymore and certainly concerning our club the passion has gone for a lot of the old school who were the backbone of the club.

Tan has also added to this with the red bollox, any fan worth his salt would not piss on it and this has caused issues between fans.

sad state of affairs that may never be resolved

If you don't enjoy football any more, just don't go. Simple as that.

I'm not bored of FOOTBALL.

Whenever I'm listening on the radio or down CCS watching my heart is in my throat and there's nothing in my head but the game.

I AM getting bored of the Politics, arguments, and general Drama. With half the 'Fans' on facebook / twitter just constantly complaining about how shit we are and all I can think is "well piss off then"

Luckily when I'm actually watching / listening to a match the drama disappears for me, for 90 minutes and I just enjoy the football... even more so when in that rarest of moments we're actually playing well (and even even more so, and even rarer, when we're playing in our proper colour).

More ball kicking... less drama... I'd be a happy bunny.
