Give Gabby and Youngy a chance Tan.

Sun Sep 21, 2014 4:55 pm

Our starting formation and team selection I thought was spot on yesterday. we lack cover for Fabio imo but nothing the boys can do about that.
We need a bit of Welsh sprit at this club and I think Gabby and Youngy can certainly bring that back to the club.
They maybe a little inexperienced but I'm willing to give them 6 games based on what I saw yesterday

Fully agree. I'd actually take not getting promoted this season to have these guys at the helm

I would go with this option over Slade Hughton or Hartley

Were we watching the same game?
Gunnar was playing advanced position/ no 10 again. Lefondre was brought on as a winger. Whitss deeper than Gunnar and adeyemi. Guerra still can't get a game. But Maynard can.
The whole performance was pretty poor bar 15 min when we scored. Couldn't hold on to the ball, all time low possession, over run in midfield as usual.Same old same old really. They are cardiff boys, understandably we want them to do well but shouldn't blind us to the fact that we still look crap and essentially got lucky that derby was sloppy in the final 3rd and some Marshall acrobatics.

I was surprised at how quickly the team yesterday formed.

They played OK against a side that have been together for a while. Thats needs to be taken into consideration who they were up against. I don't know but I feel this game was a bit too soon and I just feel if we were to play Derby again in say 3 games time I reckon we would get a win specially if we managed to go 2 up.

The next game will be very interesting.

I'm sorry but I totally disagree I don't think they should be given a chance it was not long ago Scott young was sacked by AFC Porth and port talbot. At this moment in time our club a laughing stock and to appoint someone who was sacked from a Sunday league team and a welsh premier league team will make us even more of a joke.

As for the team yesterday I also disagree about getting it spot on. Playing 4 players out of position isn't spot on.
The main one for me was joe Ralls left back what that was about I never know

Cant gamble on giving chances, our club needs promotion because of our huge debt. Now is not the right time to gamble. In few years maybe bring them in to learn the trade.

I understand what your saying but how long do you think a new manager will take to find his feet? He will want to see every player in action before he can be fully confident in putting out his best team.

We are a lost ship full of new faces, no one knows this team, I dont think our own players even know themselves

Ralls has played LB for Cardiff on numerous occasions.

Not for me. Great players for us but not what we need right now. Some of the decisions they made yesterday proved they're not ready yet. Wouldn't object to them being on the new mans staff though!

Can't quite understand tangledupinblue's logic. Recently made a plea to Tan not to employ inexperienced people with no record of success at this level, and then says he would go with Gabbidon & Young. Would like to know how much experience and success these two have had at this level.

I'd like to see them have a little more time.

The performance on Saturday, while not amazing, held a lot more passion and focus than the horrific display against Middlesbrough on Tuesday (I swear to god I always pick to go and see the s**t ones)

It would be good to see what they can manage. We've all been saying that stability and consistency is needed in team selection... they haven't exactly had a chance to get that consistency as yet but as mentioned in my article at GSO, it'll be interesting to see how many they'll change for Bournemouth tomorrow

"In the meantime, before anything is official and the paperwork signed, Scott Young and Danny Gabbidon will be in charge again it seems, certainly for tomorrow’s cup game against fellow mid table 9 pointers AFC Bournemouth. Though we’re level on points so far this season, this is a game that the fans will be expecting to win. One thing I’m very interested to find out, is how many changes will be made to the squad from Saturday’s disappointing draw against Derby County.

Disappointing, I say, only because of the diminished two goal lead. I think if we’d drawn away at Pride Park 0-0 after the second half picked up, we would have been fairly happy. As it stands though, many are gutted that we “threw away” a two point lead. Fingers have been pointed at the lack of managerial experience, changing a midfielder for a forward when we’re already winning 2-0, and I think does fall into that category. Inexperience, a little disappointing, but not unforgivable certainly.

We’ve spoken many times on here about consistency and the need for a solid starting XI. I am wondering whether Young and Gabbidon might start to pull in that ethos now, and give the team the stability that everybody is calling for… Though that would never be complete without a confirmed manager." http://cardiff.gsofootball.com/2014/09/22/dydd-llun-te-27-09-14/
