VOTE NOW ' MOTM v Derby County (a) '

Sat Sep 20, 2014 5:22 pm

A great result today, even if we did throw a way a good lead. To go to Derby and get a point, when we have no manager, is very good.

But who was your man of the match?

Don't forget, the player from each match with the most MOTM votes will go into a Player of the Month poll. The winner will be who gets the most POTM votes, and this forum will be presenting an award to the winner :ayatollah:

Your MOTM on Tuesday was Javi Guerra.

The vote will be longer this week, it has been increased to 48 hours :ayatollah:

Manga did well.....but Marshall had two exquisite world class saves today so for me he edges it.

I thought Brayford put in some good work today. Between him and Manga for me but Manga has so many votes already...

Between Marshall and Manga for me.

The problem Marshall has is that we expect from him each week so unless he is exceptional someone who has a good game will pip him. Manga is new and he had a very good game so I think those two characteristics is why most people voted. I've got to confess it is why he gets my vote.

Pilkington deserves a few more votes than that surely, looked to have put in a decent shift

A few Derby fans appear to think that without Kenwyne we would have been "cannon fodder":

(From Twitter)

@RamDerby - kenwyne jones was unplayable against yesterday - he had a hand in both goals and without him #ccfc would have just been cannon fodder #dcfc

@derbyazza - feel we should of read what he was doing by the second half and marked the runners a bit better. Surely predictable after 3rd time

@RamDerby - said exactly the same thing. We should have stepped back a little and won his knock downs. His sheer strength alone beat us

@oldram1 - but first half should of being game dead 75% possession hat get great chances not sharpe enough in front of goal

@derbyazza - Totally agree. Cardiff couldn't have argued with it either. Just got to be more ruthless consistently

@RamDerby - no team should be conceding 2 goals with 75% possession and that's what's going too hinder us this season.

You're not wrong, actually. He had a big part to play and was critical during both goals. Great running and skills getting in behind the defence.

That was Pilkingtons best game so far, but still Manga for me on this match :ayatollah:

I'm sticking with Brayford. I thought he was prett darn solid on *Saturday* and I think that our defense WAS starting to look more solid (certainly more so than it has done recently)... and I almost told him that when I saw him in town yesterday... though I decided against it as I thought, he probably wouldn't care too much who my MOTM was... that and I was eating (important stuff).

Manga had a cracking game as well, and to be fair I didn't think Connolly had a bad one at all... a bit of a tough call picking through the defenders on this one.

Marshall... as ever. stupendous... (I'm worried that I'm getting too used to Marshall being so good in goal. Now when he has a great save people are expecting that, instead of lauding him for it)

Brayford and Fabio have both been my players of the season so far :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Marshall deserved credit for that draw at Derby :thumbright:

I swear Marshall could score a goal, run back, have his boot slip off and quickly make a diving save, followed by a backflip, punch out a rebound hanging off the crossbar and then save the follow up by throwing his boot at it and people would just shrug and say "that's Marshall for you" :notworthy:
