Gary monk

Anyone know if he was written off by any swans fans when he got the nod.
I don't really get involved reading up on or watching football the last year (other than Cardiff city) due to work commitments.

Would generally give a f**k for them but interested in the DOF issue and/or cooper, young, Newton, gabbs etc :bluescarf:

Obviously Tan needs a football guy at the club to report things, hence a DOF.
He has spent a lot on pay offs and wants to keep things tighter I expect.

Everyone respected him , some thought he was too inexperienced some thought he wouldn't attract the calibre of player we needed (they were proved wrong) but everyone was prepared to give him a chance and got behind him

As Waddle says, but more importantly.

Roberto Martinez. Expected too fail.
Brendan Rodgers. Expected too fail
Garry Monk. Expected too fail.

The 2 'big name managers' we employed in Paulo Sousa and Michael Laudrup. One we couldnt wait to get rid of, and the other despite being successful was beginning to ruin everything that the club had built the 10 years previous and was rightfully sacked! :thumbright:

I think we were all surprised to he honest , I watched the Jack to a king film and have nothing but respect for huw Jenkins and co , Leigh dineen even remortgaged his house to get his 50k cut , we are now reaping the rewards big time of the massive commitment 10 swans fans made 11 yrs ago and the faith the board had in monk I think will be repayed

Is it true you have a Dutch fella(Den Haag fan) on board who got in touch via email, became pen-pals with Dineen and now he's the chief scout or something? Got an eye for talent to be honest. Fair play though, don't think we'd be able to do it the way we are

Thanks guys.

It's difficult at Cardiff, we have been shat on as fans and millions wasted.

I'd like a tight ship, rather than lurch from management team to management team and style to style every time.
Don't mind getting relegated again to do so either.

There is a massive difference between huw and board than tan and board though

Mates with dai Morgan back in the eighties he's a real header , one of the ones to put 50k in he's not a scout as such but I think he put a word in about bodde and de vries
