Yes the buck stops with the manager and ultimately it's the manager who ends up walking away by mutual consent as it sounds better now-a-days than sacked, but how much of the problems are down to players.....
If a player is selected to play in a match then turn up and do your job, the job you are paid to do otherwise what is the point in playing. It's not just our players who do this though, the same happens up and down the country week in week out, Fulham, Man Utd, Liverpool, Newcastle... just a few teams whose players, over the years, got disheartened with the managers tactics or results and more or less gave up and that showed in their on-pitch performance, ultimately ending up with a manager leaving the club by mutual consent
