I really hate this kind of thing from players.

You could see by events on the field that there were serious issues with players either not understanding thier roles or just not buying into OGS philosophy. Other things like one of his staff asking Hudson if he scored the own goal deliberately are clear signs of a management team struggling to get on top of thier jobs.

I'm sorry for OGS that it didn't work out for him here because he is such a likeable guy but his mindset of constantly changing teams and tactical formations have shown that he is not ready for a job in high pressure leagues like the PL and Championship.

The question is which of our players had the courage to speak up :?

Why hate that ??... If they feel something is wrong they should be honest and say something, it was obvious to see there was a big problem with tactics.

The players should be held responsible for thier poor performances
They let ole us fans and themselves down
Imo no leaders on the pitch is a load of bollocks
As professionals they know thier jobs on the pitch and should be good enough to sort themselves out on the pitch
Im sure ole or any manager would never send them out to play poor or tell them not to try or give a f..k
The whole team are accountable
I worry if they didnt /want to do it for ole who signed /picked/trusted them
Will they do it for a new manager hmmmmmmm? :bluescarf:

So are you saying if they dont think the manager is doing his job right its ok to just down tools etc
And if they dont agree with the new managers way its ok not to perform as they should
Oh for the good old days when it was the managers way or the highway
If players didnt perform then they were transfered out
the boss was the boss
Could never see jimmy schouler letting players act /put in performances like of late and get away with it :bluescarf:

They are employed to work for their manager. If any of my employees went over my head to tell my senior management that they don't like my management style, I'd go nuts. It's not up to the players to go above the managers head, it's up to them to do the absolute best they can, no matter the circumstances. Can you honestly tell me that our players have been trying their best?

Sunderland players did the same thing last season, when they were playing shit. Blamed Di Canio, said everything was his fault, yet when Poyet came in, they didn't improve - clearly a major issue was the PLAYERS, not Di Canio. Took Poyet six months to get decent performances out of them.

I appreciate that there were clearly some issues stemming from Ole's style, but I personally find it laughable that our players chose to first complain above his head, rather than sort their own performance issues out.

I'd love to know who complained too, as I find it unlikely it was any of Ole's signings, as they seem to have all signed for the chance to play under him.

I think that the views of the players are important, how would you like your voice being taken away from ya when you sign-on for JSA?

Bring your views up with the Manager like a man. Don't go over his head bitching like a spoilt child whilst deliberately not carrying out your duties to the best of your ability.

What makes you think the players hadnt already gone to Ole, but nothing changed? Just giving another point of view

If they hadnt, I agree that they shouldnt have gone above him. I also agree they need to take some responsibilty of the ppo performance, but at the same time, the tactics etc were down to the manager

its blatently obvious ole tactics wasnt working! lots of football people on radio said didnt understand his tactics & subs on tues night, so what chance do players have?? :) team rotation is great after you get established like half way thru season, but to try and start it in champ at beginning of season is just asking for trouble! :o

People here are saying that the players were whining about his methods in February already. If that is true then they didn't even give him a chance. That is unprofessional and they have to take done of the blame for his project failing. Youre never gonna win anything if players aren't willing to get behind managers tactics.

It's clearly not all of them since cala seems unhappy he's left, daehli has thanked ogs for helping him in his career.
Gabbido and young has said that the players were happy with ogs, so it doesn't sound like this was a majority vote. It's sounds like a few maybe older players disliked his methods perhaps. It's typical some people don't like change. Who knows how it had turned out if every single player was right behind his philosophy or at least professional enough to give it 100%.

I thought Nathan Blake had a great point when he said players need 5 or 6 games to get match sharpness. How many of our players have had this when OGS was dropping players left, right and centre?

This is a good point.

I once did a sports motivational management course, and there was one quote from that which sticks with me.

"A Manage's job is not to motivate, but he should make sure he doesn't de-motivate".

In my view Ole didn't manage the basics, he was lost.
