Political history was made.
Safe to say that thousands who preached Yes we're actually unsure and when it came down to it, they voted no.
Either Way, Scotland and the UK will never be the same again.

They will have to accept they are a minor state in the English empire.

If they hadn't of turned up and voted then yes they would've bottled it.
But you must take into account the amount of people in Scotland that are proud to consider themselves British.
Generations of scots fighting in world wars suddenly the ties linking them are broken.
This vote has shown that a change is required.
And together the change will happen.

Exactly Annis, it was the only vote which makes sence. Im as proud to be welsh as everybody else on here but imagine not having the Union Jack anymore, it would be a nightmare.
Well done Scotland..........

It was fairly conclusive, in the end. 55% to 45%, on an 84% turnout.

Just shows that our democracy is second to none. They had their referendum, and decided their own future.

Time to move on.

Wot do they do now with the huge divide it's created! 1.6 million voted yes to 1.9 no!
Already there are images from Glasgow of Union jacks being burnt! This has prob done more harm than good!

First rule of campaigning: If someone tells you that they are voting for you don't ever believe them until you see the ballot papers.

Noticed Aberdeen (Jaba the Hut Salmons own area) strongly rejected him as well. That is the controlling area of the oil industry, so they obviously don't trust him with their jobs and industry.
Great if Shetland now get the same status as the Isle of Man, then what will the Jocks do?

No, they voted for Democracy and a future, rejecting a one party state socialism and eventual dependency on Europe.

The islands (Orkney, Shetlands) strong vote for the UK, as well as Aberdeen (his own area and the centre of the oil industry) knew what a one party socialist state would bring, and firmly said no.
Strange that the people in his own area rejected Salmon, and the coward ran away as soon as he knew, refusing to be at the count and announcement of the result in Aberdeen. What a leader for your country eh? Another Bonnie Prince Charlie the jocks have produced.

The only areas that had support were the "Irish" areas and Dundee, the poor welfare dependant parts.

I doubt they'll be allowed to now, this was a one-shot opportunity I reckon.
