' I Turned Cardiff Job down once & still dont want it '

Exactly what Bellamy said to me when I sat with him in Bristol Airport back in May this year, Bells couldnt wait to get away from the current regime and after explaining why I understood totally

Craig Bellamy: 'I turned down Cardiff City manager's job in December and wouldn't accept if offered it now'

Bellamy, 35, tipped Tony Pulis for the Cardiff job after revealing he could have moved into management with his hometown club last December

Cardiff City legend Craig Bellamy has sensationally revealed he turned down the chance to manage the club when Malky Mackay was sacked last December.

Bellamy, 35, says he was offered the Bluebirds top job after Mackay eventually left following the bitter breakdown of his relationship with owner Vincent Tan.

But he says he nipped it in the bud before a serious conversation was had about him taking on the managerial reins.

Meanwhile the club hero added that he wouldn't take the job if offered it now, adding the club is 'not right' for him at this moment in time.

Bellamy made the remarks while appearing on BT Sport's Clare Balding Show.

Asked what his answer would be if Vincent Tan was to ring him and ask him to manage Cardiff, Bellamy replied: "No, certainly not."

He added: "Look, I had the opportunity at Christmas to do it. When Malky left, they offered it to me then.

"Whether it was part-time... I didn't really give them the chance to get into too much of a conversation.

Yes I do hold my hands up, my daughters asked for a photo with Bells early eve in Bristol Airport and I stayed away, then Bells saw me after and we ended up having a long chat regarding City, himself etc and if ever I had judged a person wrong that was him, pure gentleman and a straight talking/honest person who told me some real home truths, a lot I knew which he confirmed. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I did tell him what my previous opinion was.  :bluescarf:

One day you'll write a book about that conversation Annis.

Why not start this evening as I can't wait to know everything that was said.

He hasn't been offered it the second time round though has he? Keep quiet no neck

I wouldn't want him as manager anyway, so not really interested in what he has to say.

I'd still love to know what that conversation was about. When will you able to reveal Annis?

What do you mean, Annis, no more books? Somebody is going to have to write the definitive account of the Vincent Tan era. It won't last for ever. ;)
