' VINCENT TANS STATEMENT TODAY '

Thursday 18th Sept 2014.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=147755

“Ole was hired by Cardiff City on our understanding and belief that he would help us fight relegation from the Barclays Premier League. Unfortunately that did not happen. After the Club was relegated many people advised me to let him go, but I decided to keep Ole on for the Championship season. Regrettably our recent results do not justify Ole’s continued role as manager at Cardiff.

“Ole has therefore decided to step down and I have accepted this. During my short association with Ole, I have found him to be an honest and hardworking professional, but unfortunately the football results were not in his favour. As long as I am the owner of this Club, Ole and his family will always be welcome in the Chairman’s Suite as my guests. I wish Ole the very best in his future career in football. We now begin the process of finding his replacement and working towards giving all our stakeholders in Cardiff City the results they deserve.”

Chairman Mehmet Dalman said, “Having spoken with Ole on deciding the best course of action for all parties, I’m sorry to say that we have agreed that it is in the best interest of the Club for us to go our separate ways.

“Ole has been a wonderful professional to work with since his arrival at the Club. Due to a difference in philosophy of approach to the game, we have decided to part company amicably. He and his family will always be welcome at Cardiff City. I know I have gained a good friend whom I wish well and remain confident in his future success.”

The end for Solskjaer came within minutes of his team crashing 1-0 at home to Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, a dismal result and performance which led to fans booing the team off the pitch.

That loss followed a 4-2 home hiding at the hands of Norwich and made it just one point out of the last 12 on offer for Solskjaer’s team, a sequence which saw them dip alarmingly down to 17th place.

Tan has targeted an immediate return to the Premier League and spent a fortune compiling the biggest squad in Cardiff’s history.

However, he grudgingly came to the conclusion Solskjaer wasn’t the man to deliver the dream and asked aides for their views in the wake of the Middlesbrough calamity.

I'm glad it was amiable, Annis, the man deserves nothing less. A great guy who just unfortunately couldn't deliver the results we needed.

The difference in philosophy is what worries me most.

Annis surely we need someone with either PL/Championship experience to have any chance of getting anywhere near promotion.
Do you think Tan understands or is being advised on the appointment, all this talk about Hartley,Cooper will end in tears I think!
Pulis or Eddie Howe for me.

Mentioned in both Dalman's and Ole's statements.

Looks like a nice way to gloss over the fact that Ole was miles out of his depth and utterly clueless. As he is such a nice guy, they probably didn't want to say that in the statement.

Gives Ole a better chance with future employers - he can just blame Tan! Everyone else seems to.

No, Tan does not understand football at all and this worries me more and more. Tan has been ill advised before, because they dont really advice him, they are yes men. He needs a real football man on the board.

When was the last time a club wished a crap manager well and actually meant it? There's a first lol. Seriously thou I was really hoping Solskjaer would have been one of them rare special managers, which he still could be but he clearly still needs more time to learn his trade :ayatollah:

That is a fair statement.

Isn't philosophy something you cover when you're appointed as a manager? Bizarre explanation.

If Dalman is the man who favoured Ogs then he needs to take a long hard look at himself too. Must have heard the word 'philosophy' over a billion times this summer (van gaal) now the excuse today is......philosopy. Seriously, for f#@k sake would it not have been a good idea to discuss 'philosophy' back in those dark chaotic december/january days when appointing him in the first place

Pulis: he's off to newcastle
Lennon: the man's got passion
Hartley: give me strength
Jones: wouldn't surprise me one iota
Sven: his name's been sung many a time (re-england crashing out of yet again) no thanks
Hoddle: if only (highly unlikely)

Just appoint Tony pulis 99% of fans want him, sure want be cheap, but sure ole was on good wage, sure will take best squad in championship to better things. Can`t blame Tan for this one, ole given serious money, but totally out of his depth (with respect).

Philosophy?
I bet any man ole said to unite the fans with a reverse of their disastrous rebrand

The rest is history, ole didn't have a fair crack of the whip same as any manager who comes in as the fan base is against the current regime.
Unbelievable how money bags can't employ an experienced person at board level and will continue to fumble with future appointments
U hope Paul Hartley stays loyal to Dundee and as for the orient chap well you couldn't make it up in fiction
