If true I think it shows just how unattractive the position has become

Not necessarily. Dundee did apparently say that they would fight to keep him.

Not at all - Could be plenty of other reasons , family , enjoyment of existing job etc .

How can you say job is unattractive esp at £3m plus a season !

Good if true. I hope that TP is signing his contract right at this moment with Dalman's William Hill betting pen.

Maybe he's voting yes in the referendum and wants to live in an independent Scotland?

Tony Pulis:

Premier League Manager of the Season 2013/2014.
Capable of taking us up and establishing us in the Premier League (as he did with Stoke).
A Cardiff City fan.

No brainer. Get him now whilst he is still available! Get it done city!

Dundee FC Club Statement

Regarding the recent speculation and reports out of England. The club would like to confirm that manager Paul Hartley has long term plans to stay at Dundee Football Club.

Paul is committed to the club and is looking forward and focused on the upcoming derby matches this week.

As a club, we are not surprised that speculation linking Paul to other clubs has come up due to the fantastic job he continues to do at Dens Park.

The club and Paul see the solid foundation which has already been put in place as the beginning of a long term plan which will see Paul at the helm of the club for years to come.

cardiff city didn't kill malkys career, malkys unprofessional conduct did

although he isn't banned from putting himself forward for other managerial jobs so it could be worse.....

The position has become poisonous under Tan whether you like it or not

Re: Hartley turns us down?

Thu Sep 18, 2014 10:30 am

I'm retiring from my current job in January. If Mr Tan can hold on I'll cost a lot less than £ 3m a year! I'm good on Football Manager so I'm sure I could do it!

What an absolute idiot you are, IF, (and it's a big if) he has been sounded out then i'm sure he thinks he is not ready for such a big job after all, he has not even completed a year in full time management yet (his previous jobs we as a part time manager) the cardiff job is a very attractive job for most managers. I don't really understand your constant posting about our club, you don't support the city, you never have, unless of course we are in a cup final at wembley.

Good decision by Hartley.

Too often we see up and coming managers jump at the first big pay packet.

Why give up a work in progress especially when you are wanted by the board and the fans.

If he is as switched on as people say he would have tested the water and seen that the City fans weren't enamoured and it would be hard enough turning around a misfiring team even with the fans inside.

Take your blinkers off FFS and look at the reality that the club is a f*cking laughing stock

Surely from the statement Mr Hartley hasn't been offered anything or turned anything down, just that amid speculation he has confirmed he is happy where he is and has long term plans.

We are not officially in the hunt for a new manager yet.

Also reading the statement from Dundee it reads very much as though Hartley also does not want speculation to disrupt his team. It does not say he has turned anything down, just says that there has been specualtion and media reports and he is committed long term to Dundee.

thats your opinion, weather you like it or not

but to say ccfc killed malkys career is, once again, defending the indefendable. and it, once again, shows the type of person you are

Well hang on those texts were actually found AFTER Malky was sacked so I see you don't let the facts get in the way of a good story hey. Pmsl

Exactly it's a statement from the club regarding "Speculation". Nothing offered so how on earth can it be turned down.
