Poll: Do you want Paul Hartley as our next manager?

Thu Sep 18, 2014 7:27 am

With Paul Hartley now Favourite, what are your views on this. Do you want him to take over from Ole?

No thank you. Nothing against him personally but I hope the club do not gamble with someone not proven at Championship/ Premiership level and instead they appoint a manager who has a PROVEN record with experience. There are many out there that fit the bill who are out of work!

Spot on, nothing against him but we need someone with experience to stop the slide firstly then push on.

Probably a nice guy, but this would be out of the frying pan and into the fire... Another unproven unknown... People didnt want Lennon yesterday because he had only managed celtic to league titles and last 16 in champ league, so why a league 1 play off winner?

Why would anyone vote for this guy?
We've just had a 'bright exciting young manager' why would we want to try another one?
Get Pullis in to get some pride, fight & organisation back.

Perhaps the jacks are voting.

What had Malky achieved when he took over, nothing! He just managed Watford!

Paul Hartley has achieved a lot in Scotland with promotions managing both Alloa and Dundee and he's done this with No money!!! Don't dismiss this guy, there are not many who have managed this successfully with 2 different clubs at such a young age - there must be something about him!

Ole had won the Norwegian league twice too... As well as manged utd reserves prob worth as much ad the whole Scottish league.... Still unproven at prem & champ level and where did it get us? Hartley may well be a decent manager in time to come, but that's not what we need now.. We don't have time to mentor an unproven guy. We need an already established person....

I suppose that is one crumb of comfort. I still want Pulis though.

I am going to fly against everything I believe now but my Celtic supporting mate suggests Hartley is an inspired choice.

He wanted Hartley as the Celtic manager after Lennon. He has not put a foot wrong.

Still should be Pulis though.

Do any of us know enough about the man to make a reasoned judgement on his possible recruitment as City manager.
It's a big call and could go tits up or it could be an inspirational choice.
I didn't vote as above because of lack of knowledge about the man.

@BBCBMcLauchlin: Dundee boss Paul Hartley has turned down the chance to become manager of Cardiff City. More soon #bbcsportscot

Does Tan read this forum? The poll is pretty conclusive with all due respect to 'yes' voters (and the odd closet Jakk).

Please appoint a credible grafter who has a CV including at least success in the English league.

Just saying. :bluescarf:

So that's that then. The bookies do get it wrong!

Now let's get back to planet Earth where Pulis is still available. Go get him Vinnie! :thumbright:
