Kadeem Harris (thanks Double G)

Tue Sep 16, 2014 10:19 am

Thanks to Double G for his player review from the DVP game against the Jacks last night... Excellent and much appreciated.

His analysis of Kadeem Harris "great game, looks the real deal. Came off half way through 2nd half. Unsure why, most dangerous outlet we had"

Watched the highlights and and have to say that I am appalled and confused why this lad can't get on the bench for Championship games. He is our 'Nathan Redmond' and is definitely ready. If Harris doesn't get some game time soon I wouldn't be surprised if he asks for the off. Can't blame him after a decent loan spell last year, a decent showing in the carling cup win and consistently decent performances in the DVP games.

A decent manager would at least have him on the bench.

I've been saying this for 18 months IMO he is our best winger (yep I honestly think he's better than noone) and he's only going to get better! :ayatollah:

Especially with our lack of width and pace and in the absence of noone, he's looked ver sharp and dangerous when I've seen him play

Hes quality and when Noone was playing DVP he was outperforming him
that surely has to say something

I think Nooney was sulking a bit in the development games.

He is quick and direct, nowhere near as tricky as Noone, but even quicker

It means noone isn't fit. He isn't as good as noone with the ball. Harris is not a tricky technical winger he is just really fast and strong.

I think that Kadeem was unlucky not to get a place on the bench under Malky because we were crying out for width and pace.

I know Noone has been injured but it appears as though Ole prefers playing through the middle rather than using any width. He gave Ralls a game after his showing in the cup so I suppose he may give Harris a chance if there is another injury to Noone/ Pilkington. He deserves a chance coming off the bench. :bluescarf:

Agreed.

But you have to wonder about the manager when he decides to bring Pilkington in (who has not impressed so far and seems very slow) when Kadeem has been performing well. How any manager can select Pilkington over Harris is a mystery. If we'd bought Redmond instead of Pilkington I could understand but it must be soul destroying to see a slow and ineffective winger brought in above you.

Harris was not played by either OGS or Malky. Its not one manager, they are both in agreement there. Harris has exceptional physical gifts but if he lacks tactical understanding a good football brain then a manager won't play him on this level.

I think you are right and given the lack of pace and directness in the squad Harris should be considered for a place on the bench. I like Noone and believe he should be ahead of Harris but Harris deserves a place on the bench.

I find it bizarre that Noone is the only midfielder we have (besides harris) with a bit of pace and flair. Our squad is not as good as people make out if we have a manager who plays three central midfield players and pilkington (the slowest winger I have see for some time) across the middle.

Harris doesnt really have flair. He is really not that great with the ball in the way Noone and Daehli are. But if he worked on his passing, overall understanding of the game, he could be very good at this level because of his pace and strength. I said in a different thread he needs to go on loan to get experience on a higher level if OGS isn't gonna play him. He is gonna be 22 next year so he isn't that young anymore for someone who is still in the dvp side. It wont benefit him to be a dvp player for another season.

I wouldn't send him on loan again, he did very well last year on loan and did well in the cup game - at 22 he needs a chance in the first team for us. Plus he has something we are missing, pace - if we had an abundance of pace in the team then I understand him being down the pecking order (due to the reasons you mentioned), but we don't and for some inexplicable reason Ole bought another slow winger.

I would stick him on the bench and bring him on to run at defenders who are tiring and see what he can do.

I agree i was just saying if he isn't gonna play him its better he goes on loan. I don't get the pilkington signing either.

Always said people like him and Ralls deserve to get a run out off the bench at a home game when we are very comfortable in a game and winning.
