Ole's biggest mistake!

Mon Sep 15, 2014 4:41 pm

When things started to go wrong on Saturday, it was very evident that the team body language slumped, there was no real evidence of a Leader on the field shouting the odds or geeing others on.
Are we going to severely regret not having a "proper" captain on the field?
I've never been a fan of keepers being captains and fear that without a Kavanagh, Purse, Hudson type of character we might struggle on a regular basis, I also worry that Marshal's form might suffer if he's trying to get more involved in pitch matters.

Agree with you about the captain it shouldn't be the goalkeeper I think that it should be given to manga if he can speak English lol

Kenwyne seemed to be motivating them. Fabio, Gunnar or KJ for capts

Marshall has to be Captain - with Ole picking the team Marshall is the only player who is guaranteed a place in the starting 11

This is my point, did Ole just not give the captain situation too much thought? Even if Hudson stayed he wasn't likely to feature much!!

Some games require a captain to grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Someone to generate enthusiasm amongst the rank.

Hard to do that when your standing between sticks.

Think I do agree, its pretty hard to communicate as a keeper. If Manga could start his english course asap, I imagine he would suit perfect. The french say he's the born leader.
