Whatever you think of him a manager. You have to respect him as player. He was loyal, hardworking, never let his ego get in his way, and one of their top goal scorers of all time.

Spot on.
Could have moved away from them at any time, as he was always on the bench. But he stayed to work hard for their team.
Anyone who's met Ole will tell you he's one of the most genuine people.

What have we to respect?
Respect has to be earned by working hard and producing what you are supposed (or paid) to do.
Manu Utd fans like (respect) him as he scored lots of goals for them - fair enough.
But he has done nothing at our club and is only taking us backwards. He looks clueless and cannot motivate or organize the team.
Therefore no respect for him is necessary, unless you think being a nice person (and a yes man) is worth respect, even if you cannot do the job you are extremely well paid to do.
