Gunnarson

This isn't a thread slagging Gunnarson off as I actually think he's a decent player, and certainly wasn't our worst player yesterday by a long shot! However, why does Ole insist on playing him in a number 10 role when it's clear that creativity isn't one of his strong suits? And if he wants to play someone at the tip of a diamond why has he never played Daehli there who appears to have all the attributes for such a role?

Only ever seen gunnarsson have one half tidy game at the ccs! And that was in an Iceland shirt! He's awful! Slow, doesn't track back, dwindles in possession! Only positive is when he falls over and accidentally wins the ball! Shouldn't be anywhere near the first team!


Where are all of oles signings? Eikrem, digkacoi, adeyemi, guerra, manga, Daehli etc.. Instead he uses ralls, gunnarsson, Connolly, whitts who has to be dropped! We would have been better with Kim on there yesterday! A World Cup international! Had a few poor performances but so did the xi around him that day! When we dropped whitts before we had Kim and mutch in the middle and they were superb!

Most managers have one or sometimes two players who they seem to select week in week out no matter how they perform.

ole seems to pick Gunnar as his first pick as he seems to play every game if he's fit.

Then he selects the rest of the team and then decides which position he can squeeze Gunnar into!

Why do managers have players in whom they pace often misguided faith? Ultimately it will cost him his job when these players are obviously not up to the job they are being asked to do.

Out of interest why do you say Gunnar's best position is tip of the diamond? Personally I don't think he has enough quality to play that role and if he plays anywhere it's as a DM! Kim must be furious to not even make the squad and then see Gunnar playing no.10! He hasn't been at his best but second half of our championship winning season Kim was brilliant!

Playing Whitts as a CM in a 442 is not the way to go though.

I think its his best position, not that its best for the team.

IMO his technique and composure on the ball is awful and it is too much of a risk not to have on some occasions anybody behind him. He is tough, brave and finds space in the box and has an eye for goal.

Whitts on the other hand has great technique and composure on the ball, but is not tough and brave.

Adeyemi is not a defensive midfielder either, strong,athletic a good destroyer an old fashioned british midfielder. If Digachoi is not the real deal I think we are shagged.

He is not very creative or skillful ,he just runs around a lot. I guess he gets props for trying hard.
But -Youd find that in every good team no 10 is the most techincally skilful player with the best vision.
It's a mystery why ole insist on playing Gunnarson there. He is so far from that.
Meanwhile daehli can't get a game in that position and what about whitts? I am behind ole but it's stuff like this that makes me question him. Utterly bizarre.
