Macheda

Did well in the first half. One of the few who can/ will turn and attack. However after 40 minutes he was knackered. Why? He's a professional footballer for gods sake. Also when it was clear there was no fuel in the tank why didn't Ole take him off. A centre forward by nature and he was asked to play on the left! And although absolutely knackered he hook Jones off!!! Unbelievable!!!

I thought Maynard was going on the left and Macheda up front. I even saw Macheda go up top until Maynard told him. Very strange decision.

He was bollocksed

I agree op, at the end of 40mins he was huffing and puffing all over the pitch, he could hardly run and was just sticking a foot out to try and stop people running. I said to my mate hes coming off half time, it was like me playing 5aside. How he stayed on after half time i dont know.

This wasn't entirely Macheda's fault. Anyone watching the game from the start would have noticed that the midfield was lopsided. You need to look for the midfield player who should have been playing on the left. You can choose one from Whitts, Ralls or Gunnerson.

Not one of them gave any support, or filled any of the gaps between left back and our forwards (one of which was supposed to be Macheda). Macheda ended up running back every minute to support Fabio. This gap was always there, both in defence and in attack. You can't expect any striker to be effective up top and defend right back to his own goal area. At least not every couple of minutes.

You might argue that Ole should have spotted this and done something about it, but why not blame the players. They're professional footballers and should be spotting problems and making adjustments for themselves.

All the recent calls for Ralls to start were I feel a bit premature. He was guilty of 5 bad passes yesterday as well as giving the ball away by being caught in possession several times.

I wouldn't blame ralls entirely, you have to look closely in the middle of the park, whitts cannot accommodate the cm position as he cannot tackle, close down or thread a forward pass,he's everything that this position dictates NOT.
