Agreed.

Marshall has been a great servant for the club and deserves recognition for his form last season.

However, one has to ask if a goalkeeper plays in the right position to act as Captain and influence the team. Suppose time will tell but there is no doubting that he is committed to City.

Our best player by some distance. But not ideal for a keeper to be captain. Trouble is there's no other candidate as nobody, apart from Marshall can be sure of a place in the starting line up. Ole even dropped Brayford out after he played well against Wigan.

Also Marshall is probably only player that wont be switched or changed unless in cups .

It is really hard to think of another player that has the right attitude to be a captain.
The players all love Gunnar aswell so they could feed off him.

Whittingham could be given the vice captaincy though, even though I do not agree with it in the slightest. I would be gutted if Whittingham was named vice captain - As much as I love the guy though!

Fair enough, each to their own but Gunnar is the obvious choice as he is also the captain for Iceland
Also, Hudson was still named the captain of our squad this season yet Ole clearly knew he wouldn't be the 1st choice.

You have a point about the language barrier but i just think it should be a member of the starting XI.
