Cardiff City XI results: YOU want Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to pick Kenwyne Jones and Federico Macheda up front

Cardiff City fans are calling for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to pair Kenwyne Jones and Federico Macheda together in a new strikeforce they hope will tear up the Championship.
Solskjaer has a glut of riches at his disposal with arguably the strongest Cardiff squad in history... and could still be weeks and months away from settling upon his best team as the Bluebirds seek an instant return to the Premier League.
But as far as the Cardiff supporters are concerned, big Kenwyne and new capture from Manchester United Macheda are the men to score the goals to fire that dream.
More than 2,000 fans took part in our People’s Team poll where we asked you to cut through Solskjaer’s bumper array of options and come up with the starting XI you believe he should pick when everyone is fit.
The competition for places up front is more intense than anywhere, with Jones, Macheda, Adam Le Fondre, Spanish ace Javi Guerra and Nicky Maynard battling it out.
' The Cardiff City People's XI: '
Your verdict is that Jones and Macheda should get the nod from Solskjaer, starting against Norwich this weekend, the two men netting 38% and 33% of the vote respectively.
Guerra won 15% of the poll, with Le Fondre on 11% and Maynard netting just three per cent.
The options in the midfield are plentiful for Solskjaer, but it’s Peter Whittingham (25%) and Kagisho Dikgacoi (also 25%) you want to see patrolling the centre as playmakers, ahead of new signing Tom Adeyemi (18%).
Craig Noone and Mats Daheli are your picks on the two flanks, just edging out the challenge of yet another Solskjaer newcomer Anthony Pilkington.
As for the centre of defence, another area where Solskjaer must make some tough calls, it’s newcomers Bruno Manga and Sean Morrison for you. Those netted 84% of the poll between them for the centre-back berths.
Predictably, goalkeeper David Marshall (right) was the most popular pick for the fans, with almost a clean sweep for the number one jersey. John Brayford and Fabio were also overwhelming choices for the full-back positions.

No we don't.
I want Mecheda and Guerra.

anyone think playing Guerra and macheda behind jones would work? Guerra would be in more of a midfield role but he's a good passer so we just need enough steel behind.

11% wanted Le Fondre.
Why? He should be loaned out in January.
Why did City sign a proven La Liga goal scorer to be 4th choice?
I see the merit in Jones playing given his goal return so far and his height and strength etc but I want to see Macheda and Guerra play as well.
All of this could have been avoided had he signed Grabban, which I suspect will come back to haunt us tomorrow.

I think we are going to see either macheda or guerra start tomorrow. What I have been surprised at is how much he has used maynard which I don't think is be up to the job. I feel Maynard has lost a bit of pace since his injury and needs to be 5th choice behind Jones, le fondre, macheda and guerra.
With Grabban, wasnt it a case of him picking Norwich over us?

Because ALF is proven at this record?

Yup, that's my XI but I've been very impressed with Declan and Connely's performances too. Deffo Jones/Macheda up top for me and my main concern is our midfield unit at the moment. We've missed Noone for sure but I thought Pilkington would cover that and as much as I love Daehli, I just hope the crock he picked up isn't going to further hamper his return to form. Looking forward to seeing Manga tomorrow and hope that we are noe going to gel and play as we did consistently as I saw us in the first 40 mins of Blackburn, where we were truly formidable.
