' Hull City: Owner Assem Allam says club put up for sale '
Hull City owner Assem Allam has revealed the club is for sale as he continues to fight for a change of name to Hull Tigers.
He threatened to quit the Premier League club within 24 hours if the plan failed, and the Football Association turned down the proposal in April.
"When I say something, I mean it," the 75-year-old Egyptian told a news conference on Thursday.
He said the club had been for sale 22 hours after the FA's decision.
Allam added that an appeal was being lodged against the name change rejection with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
"We stated earlier this year that the club would be for sale should our attempt to globally promote Hull Tigers as a brand name and as a playing name be blocked," he said.
"As a consequence of the FA decision on 9 April, I announced on 10 April, within 22 hours, that Hull City is for sale."

I wonder indeed. Maybe the Kumars, Hammam or even Clemo are looking for a club to buy. Now there's food for thought.

Just basic profiting surely. Buys at a low level, invests and take it to the Premier League and even a UEFA place and then sells at the highest point.

Posturing IMHO, but I guess only time will tell. Mr Allam is certainly one to court publicity!

Costly the only way to make proper money out of football is to buy a lower league club and take them to the Premier League and then sell
